In case I haven't mentioned it yet, I am a professional clown and I also have a day-job as a medical transcriptionist.

Clowning is an outlet and an artform. Medical transcription pays the bills, well that and my Navy retirement, oh yeah and we make money clowning too *Bigsmile*. Working at the day-job is going to be a bit more of a priority now as I have spent too much time bopping around on WDC. I'm still going to hang out here, I'm just tired of sitting at this computer from 0500-2130. It's a long day! So I'm going to work harder. In the meantime, all I've really posted is a bunch of my whining about procrastination and having no time to write.

I'm going to be doing some time management and that involves working harder during the workday. I'm paid by production so it doesn't matter how long it takes me to reach my quota . . . and for a world class procrastinator like myself . . . well you get the idea!

Anyway I want to move on and let you get to know me and what I think so I am just gonna have to buckle down and get the time to do the things I want and that means I gotta get back to work!

I love it here at WDC and I've made some great friends! I'm excited about the time ahead and look forward to more great times! Heck, I just made a new friend today! If you get a chance swing by her port, she's not exactly a newbie but she has some nice stuff in there:

Two things are really slowing up my process beyond my own personal procrastination inclination and those are life and earning a living.

Earning a living obviously gets a priority. Aside from being a real clown and balloon artist I am a medical transcriptionist and my typing activities usually take up the bulk of the day. Today is no exception.

It looked for a while like last night I was going to get some time to spend reading/writing but that was not my destiny.

My children are all grown adults and live on their own. Sometimes they still need attention from their dad though. Last night was one of those nights. Our eldest was just down. So I took her out for a bite to eat. We had a wonderful time and she also shares a love for writing so we talked about writing.

We are both considering participating in NaNoWriMo. We both lead very busy lives and my understanding is that this makes us perfect candidates.

Anyway, today I am going to concentrate on getting my work done on the day-job so that I might get a few minutes this evening to either spend with my wife or spend involved with writing activites.

Have a great Sunday!

I have made an amazing new discovery! This discovery is so astounding, it will literally change your writing life! I know it is changing mine, and it was right there, all along. Every body says it, but how many people are actually doing it?

I guess that is where this blog comes in. Here it is: write every day. That's it! How many times have you heard it? How many times have you read it? Write every day. Something, anything, just write. It actually get's you going!

There are so many things here at WDC to help us along with that too! Just look around at the contests and forums. If you can't find something to kick you in the write direction then you're not looking for it!

Write on!

So I have begun a major edit of Charley's Story and I gotta tell you, it is work. It's good work though, it's fun work, but it's work. The going is slow, I'm a little less than half done.

I hope to have it finished by the end of the week so I am making myself a commitment that I will get through my work day early enough that I will have time to spend two hours on the story this evening. For those really astute dectectives. I have placed in the story a symbol ($$$). That is the point the story is edited to. Please feel free to check it's location and hold me accountable if it has not moved.

Well, there's a lot of keystrokes ahead before I can get to this so I am going to have to quit hanging around on WDC and actually get to work!

If you are reading this, thanks for stopping by.

I have decided to try this. I hope I am good at it. The real problem is that as the title to this entry implies, I am my own worst enemy. I am a world class procrastinator to start. But more than that I am so easily distracted. Take right now for example, right now I am supposed to be earning a living, typing medical reports for a hospital somewhere in Arizona. Am I working? No, I am clowning around on WDC, typing this introductory blog entry.

Yesterday on the scrolling text system there was this really funny discussion about WDC addiction. Yes, it is a very addictive site. There is so much to see and do at all times. It is really quite rewarding. It is so good to be able to give and receive input on all of our work and to take on a new identity here in our little corner of cyber space.

Now, see how easily I am distracted from even this? Okay, so today I have been notified by Janie over at Angel Buddies forum (check it out) that I have been assigned a partner! More on that at a later date, for now suffice to say I am excited! At last someone to help kick me into the write direction!

Hope you enjoy my blog, please feel free to peruse my rather limited port. I hope to be adding more in the very near future to the port and to this blog.
