Free/automatic writings... guns & transmissions & updates & The Jetsons
I haven't done an automatic writing (or "free writing") for years, but I found it to be a useful tool then. I thought it might be an interesting experience to do it again. I had lots of poems and stories spawned from automatic writings in my teens, and I could sure use some inspiration now! So, giving it a go!

Originally, this book was titled "Author's Spotlight - Season 5". The first 12 entries were for a previous year of "AUTHORS' SPOTLIGHT - Season 6.

If Writing.com did not exist, things would be the same for me as they were a week ago. I have only recently become a member of this community, and already my passion for writing has expanded to include forms and genres that held no interest for me previously.
I would be stumbling through the writing of a novel with no one available to review it, no one to offer advice, and no one who understood why I feel a need to write it. I would be begging my husband to read my chapters, knowing that he has little interest in the genre.
Finding peers who are also working on novels would be much more difficult. Discovering those that are writing novels of the same genre as my own would be even harder. With a lack of prompts and peers who share my interests, I likely would have given up on writing a novel. I possibly would have given up on writing in general. I have done this before.
If Writing.com did not exist, I would not be rediscovering my inner author or my lost passion for prose. My life would be the same as it was a week ago- frustrating and dull.

Baa baa, white sheep,
Have you wool as well?
Yes, ma’am! Yes, ma’am!
More than I can sell!

I sold six bags last night,
And sold four more today!
If I cannot sell some more,
I’ll have to give it all away!

Baa baa, white sheep,
I do not need so many!
Well, ma’am, that’s fine.
I’m glad that you need any!

I’ll give you what you need today,
And an extra that’s for free.
If you need some more soon,
You know just where to find me!
