AT FANDANGO, we're (my characters and I) are all about the fiction.
Characters from the over stuffy portfolio of humble author, April Sunday often appear in cameo.

Blog comments welcome.

Always --- Yours Truly might be baking, arranging dry flowers, brewing tea, or cooking up a storm. Maybe this blog owner's quietly reading a stack of library books or knitting for a NY bookstore. Keeping warm and cozy with an author's schedule creating short stories eventually filed along the lines of, thank goodness more --- Completed Fiction. I'm relaxed and happy and hope this audience is the same. Variety is a wonderful gift.

In the autumn and into DEC/ JAN I'll be hosting the EVERYONE CONTESTS below.

MANCHESTER BY-THE-SEA PROPOSAL
February 15, 2014 at 11:25am
A PROPOSAL FOR HIGHER WORD COUNTS ... from Mrs. Mary Moffett. (Mental state adaption. Readers shall need an open mind here with agreement that, yes, wc is all about critique. So, offense is not meant in any personal manner to anyone in particular. Hopefully we will all enjoy our writing days ahead in 2014. The thing is we need more contests to seriously enter without being cut off and cut out.) Suffice .. geographical research stats are not yet complete for this February serial. C... [Read more]
LT DONNY MARSHAL IN THE FLESH
February 15, 2014 at 8:03am
April Sunday fears her heart shall break, if he never visits Sunday Florists. Where constantly daydreaming, she haphazardly re-counts posies for bouquets prolific and pronounced. He --- Lt. Donny Marshal --- perhaps her one and only love at first sight to date. Ruth Sunday, April's charming mother, a talented florist with considerable flair and faith in all the connotations for love surrounding the St. Valentine, romance myth ... prods her daughter for an explanation. (Mid week, t... [Read more]
APRIL SUNDAY
February 14, 2014 at 9:47am
Vanessa DeCappo chides her Aunt Theresa about the latest name for the "Sisters' section of The Brotherhood of the Easily Defended." Theresa comes back with We don't all have our hearts and minds in the clouds over a certain excellent catch, like a certain redhead. You, Vanessa. "Oh, Auntie, do I stand a chance with Peter Sunday? I think I might be halfway in love already." Cold fingers shaking in this part of the DeCappo manse causes coffee to slip slowly along ... [Read more]
HAPPY?
February 11, 2014 at 8:32am
When Peter Sunday stomps snowy boots on his Aunt Rosie's doorstep, she's ready for him with a stiff cup of New England brew. Peter accepts the coffee mug, peels off icy gloves, his face as pale as formaldehyde. January Sunday notes limp paper doilies on Rosie Sunday's front windows in competition with full length Jack Frost's delicate oblique. The porch itself, gives way to frozen solid drifts with a pile of dry firewood under a canvas tarp. He brings an armload into Rosi... [Read more]
CUPID, BY ANY OTHER NAME
February 10, 2014 at 8:33am
On the windowsill a large pot of shamrocks crowds for attention against a frozen terrain, reminding Vanessa DeCappo there shall one day arrive a Spring fling beyond snowscape. The Boston Terrier carried home from the pet store with Peter Sunday in tow, two days ago .. fairs well on Aunt Theresa's side of the table. He rolls in his sleep inside an Easter basket found hanging on a hook in the mud room, behind a door. (That door vows never to fully close since Vanessa's grandfather... [Read more]
SNOWLESS WHITE PHOTO
February 8, 2014 at 7:17pm
ROSIE SUNDAY watches her nephews shovel out the first place their truck's rear tires falter. Residents seem grateful. Soon snow flies high, shovels gleam silver in the sunlight. She turns a few pages of a popular magazine. An advert stops her dead in her tracks because it is a digital photo. Measurements are askew. The picture offers not one single bit of green palm frond, simply a tree trunk. She whispers to the kitchen table: All this white outside now white columns. She no... [Read more]
LEEWAY COTTAGE
February 8, 2014 at 6:22pm
Prompt letter for 14 Days of Romance centers on reviewing a portfolio, flash fiction, noted as a winner in a site contest last Dec. Now, this evening .. Stepping completely away from a review box below the short composition with vampire implications tying ravens with voices, while self- subbing the sum inside the lengthy, two paragraph prompt seems .. basically far removed from Romance genre. TEFF opts to deflect. Especially as the prompt message states outright how well we are to learn... [Read more]
JANUARY SUNDAY
February 7, 2014 at 9:07am
FEB 6, 2014/ Manchester, Massachusetts --- Morning finds January Sunday and brother, Peter Sunday knee deep in snow so moist, Tom & Jerry, Icec ream makers renown, might wish to package the lot. Glacier mounds of this white invader, a traffic stopping, awful heavy snow extend as far as the eye can fathom. Even wearing shades, the future for the remainder of the week clocks in as both bleak and quite bright. Vanessa DeCappo dreams of handsome-as-hell, Peter Sunday. Her new puppy, Namel... [Read more]

February 6, 2014 at 4:42pm
Funny thing happens on on the way to FEB 6 discover following prompt from: Marci does 14 DAYS OF ROMANCE as in Quoting same: QUOTE: How many times while writing a story do we need to really describe something in detail and give it a made up name. Well, here's your chance to hone that skill a little more... > Create a "box" of at least six Valentine chocolates. TWILIGHT SECRET OF THE TRAVELING COAT
February 5, 2014 at 9:43am
FEBRUARY, 4, 2014 Manchester, Massachusetts Twilight A rare gloaming lifts spirits of onlookers caught up in winter blahs. Cabin fever dictates staying inside and staying home during February's repetitious snowstorms. Theresa DeCappo sets down her pen, admires violet skies throwing the Merrimack River into a rainbow winter wonderland. Adjacent to this tangerine afterglow, twilight's charming gloaming also reveals several morning doves vying for sunflower seeds strewn o... [Read more]
BROTHERHOOD OF THE EASILY OFFENDED
February 4, 2014 at 10:26am
Dawn peaks into Theresa DeCappo's upstairs office, an overlook specifically situated above Merrimack River. Nearby Manchester lay buried beneath one foot of snow. Theresa ponders --- February, 2014, as a year to be reckoned with due devil-may-care snowplows which left tundras of upturned lawns, felled shrubs in their wake. Admiring two red roses, Peter Sunday left on Sunday, Theresa spins a bud vase, sniffs the pine clipping, niece Vanessa brought inside yesterday to enhance the n... [Read more]
SUNDAY ROSES
February 3, 2014 at 8:50am
Adept at deciphering prevailing winds, a true follower of sunrise and sunset, Vanessa DeCappo marvels, nonetheless, due extreme temperature swings during the winter of 2014. Twenty-Fourteen, itself a mean cold blaster by all means. Since December past, winter brings weekly amounts of excessive snow to Massachusetts. Manchester, a jewel crown below the ridge, brightly cast in every window. If Vanessa maneuvers trusty Bushnells upon city scenes, she can indeed see a traffic light at the end... [Read more]
VANESSA DeCAPPO
February 1, 2014 at 9:20pm
Vanessa DeCappo's primary claim to fame is her dignified standoffishness. Hardly from a hoity-toity background, she's blindsided by phoniness with emphasis on immorality. Although she practically reared herself through childhood, until a kind aunt took her to task, she's considered both a snob and a confessed loner. "She's a rare bird," remarks Petey Sunday silently to the sidewalk when Vanessa shoulders past at a good clip. She tips her nose to the sky as ha... [Read more]

FOURTEEN SHOT ALREADY?
January 15, 2014 at 11:12am
"FOURTEEN SHOT ALREADY? by * Fourteen days that is. Well, on Jan 2nd, thought to comment on how fast the year was going, but alas PC online burnout overcame the likes of Miss TEFFY. Time of the year to contemplate painting windows, doors, woodwork ... sure I was busy for half the first month of TWENTY FOURTEEN. Ah, like many a winterizing homemaker apt to freeze to death in another one of those one hundred plus, gorgeous & spacious old houses. Myself? Yo, one who abhors oil ... [Read more]
