Responding to weekly prompts about my weekly reality
What is my reality?  Over the weeks to come, hopefully I will paint a better written picture of my reality.  Maybe or maybe not, but I will enjoy the journey.

2. What critical life events have shaped who you are today?

The Cold war; the birth of my children; and the death of my Mother. The Cold War frightened me all of my young life. It was on the news and everywhere. We drilled and drilled on getting to the bomb shelters, and what would happen to you if you did not. We were constantly reminded of what had happened in Japan and the threat of the next war being on American soil. I was always scared. The birth of my first child made me want to be the best mother ever. The remaining three gave me plenty of opportunities to practice my skills at being the best mother ever. The death of my Mother robbed me of twenty (20) years of my life. Only recently have I wanted to really live again.

1. What is your favourite childhood memory?

My favorite childhood memory is getting dog candy on my cane stick when the cane has cooked forever and is ready for pouring in the jugs. It was the best candy in the world and it automatically formed as the cane cooked and all of the water evaporated. We could not wait for grand-daddy to say, “Get those cane sticks ready, cause the dog candy is ready for them!”

7. Are you a self- confident person by nature? Has that changed at any time throughout your life so far?

I am a very self-confident person! I have thought recently that it might be my real weakness. I am currently probing that thought as I explore me with me. My self-confidence has not changed very much throughout my life.

6. Do you feel older or younger than your chronological age?

I definitely feel younger than my chronological age. In the last five years, my chronological age has been catching up with me. LOL

5. What made you think of the past this week? Was it a happy or sad memory?

My Mother always makes me think of the past, and I think of her almost daily in some way or another. In the past two years, most of my thoughts of my Mother have been very happy ones. However, any time there is a discussion of death, thinking of her makes me sad.

4. We hear much talk on writing.com about the muse which is essentially someone/something/inner voice, that inspires or sometimes even demands that we create. Notable professions who often speak of having a muse are artists, musicians, actors/actresses and of course writers of all kinds. Share with us what you think of the concept of having a muse and if you have a muse of your own, explain the relationship you have and how it works for you.

I have found this phenomenon to be interesting and first encountered here on WDC. I do not believe that I have a muse, and if I do, I have not met her/him at the time of this writing.

1. In what ways do you consider yourself creative and what mediums do you use to express this creativity?

I have not always thought of myself as creative, but for the past two years, and my time on WDC, I have changed my views of me, and my creativity. I am definitely a writer. I am also a painter. Two budding talents. I cannot tell you what kind of writer I am, but I can tell you that I am an abstract artist.

3. What has disappointed you this week?

I have disappointed me so far this week even though I have accomplished many of the things I had on my list. My disappointment in me had to do with my exercise program which I neglected.

2. The beginning of Spring is a time of renewal and hope after a long winter. What does Spring mean to you? Does it inspire you in any way?

Spring is one of my favorite seasons. I come alive. I get restless. I feel ready to start all over again. Full of energy, and yes, it inspires. I usually check in on me, my health, and my well-being as I get ready for summer.
