First, I would like to give credit to Joseph Nendza for coming up with this challenge. He and I are members of the AWAI Group found at: http://www.awaionline.com/members/copywriting/. The site is for up and coming copywriters, and it is a community that provides support to new members. I found the challenge and decided to join the fun. This is my first experience with blogging, so I'm excited to see how it goes. It is odd to be writing without a thought to plot or message. Perhaps later I will start structuring these more. For now, I'm just going to write and see where it goes.

I guess this is a lot like keeping a journal, only one that anyone can read. That's both exciting and terrifying. I started the copywriting program April 11, 2014, and this blog will also be used to chronicle my adventures with AWAI. So far, I've purchased the Barefoot Writer Subscription, the Accelerated Copywriting Program, the Financial Program, and the Professional Writers' Alliance Subscription. I'm on part two of the Accelerated Copywriting program, and I've submitted a couple pieces to both the Barefooted Writer and the PWA. I haven't won anything yet, but I will keep trying.

My goals: I plan to finish the Accelerated Copywriting Program and the Financial Program before 2015. I'm not going to buy any more programs until I can purchase them with the profits made with the programs I've already bought. AWAI has a large number of programs to choose from, and all of them sound amazing. It would be easy to end up sitting in the middle of the road with so many paths open and no idea which one to take. To keep that from happening, I'm not going to buy anything else until these ones start making a profit.

I'm kind of nervous about the Financial Program. Knowledge wise, I don't know anything about the financial system. Still, I think it is going to be a good choice. It will teach me what I need to do, and the potential market is large. As they say, go big or go home. We'll see how it goes, and I'll let you guys know too.

The Accelerated Copywriting program is awesome so far. I've already learned a great deal, and I know that if I keep up with it, and do all the exercises, I will become a successful copywriter. There is much to learn, and much to do before I'm able to quit my day job, but I now have that goal in mind and a method for making it a reality.

I've always loved writing, but I never thought I would be able to find a way to make a living out of it. Most traditional writing opportunities are limited, with a large number of writers competing for them. With copywriting, it is the opposite. There are endless opportunities for copywriters, and not nearly enough people to fill them. So as long as I work hard, I will be able to break into the copywriting industry.

Well, day one done!

Thanks for reading.
