A Place where I can truly be me
Welcome to Marcia's World: I believe there's still hope

A place where I hope to feel safe enough to reveal my wants needs, desires, and dreams and maybe even my deepest fears and my best kept secrets. After all; I'm supposed to to find trust somewhere, right? Life can't be full of all heartache can it? My happily ever after might still be out there looking for me, right? They say it's never to late so, hey, I will keep an open mind and keep praying. My children are all grown. There's a bit of a monkey wrench so to speak. I have cerebral palsy. I was born with it. Now, please, don't get all, oh, I'm so sorry on me. I love being me. *Smile* I've never let my CP define me. Sadly, it does make people run the other way as far as relationships go. My CP only affects my walking. I walk with quad canes. I have a fear of falling so if there's going to be a lot of walking, I use a manual or motorized wheelchair. Due to my CP; I have an extreme amount of patience unless stupidity is involved...I might have to save that explanation for a whole topic by itself...*Facepalm* Shakes head and laughs! *Laugh*

I Love: Chocolate, Teddy bears, Smiley faces, Peanut butter and Chocolate(together), Making other people feel good about who they are, Being a Mom, Being a Mom Mom, Country Music, Martina McBride (She inspire's me daily) Another subject worthy of it's own topic. I will take a moment though and direct you to an amazing video. *Bigsmile*

What is point of view? How do you find that perfect voice in your story? Do you agree with how the author explained it? Do you prefer a particular tense when writing?

http://warriorwriters.wordpress.com/2014/11/06/point-of-view-what-is-it-how-to-f...

I tend to write in the first person quite often. My favorite genre to write is non-fiction. It depends on what I'm writing about that makes me decide what point of view to write from.

I think the author of the article Lyn's a Witchy Woman directed us to did an amazing job explaining the different types of point of view. I, certainly, learned something new from reading it. Although, I was aware of what point of view is. I wasn't aware there's so many different types. I may read some of the books recommended just to see the difference in the writing. It may help improve my own writing. Thanks very much, Lyn's a Witchy Woman *Bigsmile* *Heart* for this prompt I'm going to learn some much needed information from it!

Hi,

Saw an interesting blog today about finding your authentic writing voice. The author suggests a writer list the first three things that come to mind when you're asked to describe yourself/your writing. Read something you wrote recently. Do you hear any of those descriptors? You should, if you're writing openly. What do you think of her advice?

http://www.blogher.com/how-find-your-authentic-voice?wrap=blogher-topics/bloggin...

I went to this website you posted here. I found it very interesting. I really enjoyed everything the author said about finding your authentic voice. When I first began to write I don't think I was very good at finding my own voice, but since I've become a member of writing.com. I've seen my own writing improve/evolve I think I do have my own voice.

It's hard to believe how far I've come. I've taken some classes here at WdC. Comma Sense and Punctuation Station. They both were an amazing help. They were taught by members who know their stuff. warriormom and Winnie Kay Reviewing has been a huge help to me. I, truly, enjoy it and I've learned so much from it. *Bigsmile*

I was very lost when I first came to this site. I felt very overwhelmed. I had no clue where to begin. I was treated like I mattered and very soon was taught how this site could help me achieve my dreams and much more. I just had to believe in myself and my goals. It wasn't long before I was off and running and began to write my life story. The members here at writing.com belived in me so it wasn't hard to believe in myself.

You can read the story of how I discovered writing.com here

I, truly, enjoy writing. It's therapeutic for me in many ways. It's my hope that my life story will inspire others someday.

Let's talk " Many of us associate keeping a diary with our emotionally volatile teenage years. But new research suggests that recording our run-of-the-mill, daily experiences, rather than just our highs and lows, could bring us unexpected joy." Do you agree or disagree? Do you keep a diary ?

Well to be honest,Yes, When I was a teenager I kept a dairy. back when I was teenager though, I didn't need a diary. Maybe I was a little strange. All I needed was a piece of paper and something to write with and I was always writing my feelings down on paper. I've always been an emotional person so it was my way of getting my emotions out...I know strange, right.

I had a lot of friends and I moved away from them in Junior High so I wrote a lot of letters. For years I kept in touch with my classmates this way and believe it or not I'm still in touch with most of them now through modern technology in one way or the other.

Since I've started writing this blog believe it or not I, personally, find it very gratifying. I like to go back and reread my posts. My own posts make me smile *Smile* or *Laugh* or even *Cry* in good way at times. I do believe that writing a journal/dairy/blog, especially, when, it's a, truly, personal one you put your whole whole heart and soul into can be very satisfying and bring not only you, but others who read it inner peace. May we all find it...~Marcia

I Just Met My Doppelganger

Your Doppelganger is someone that looks like you...They say everyone has a look alike.

My Doppelganger and I trade places for the day. I'm, magically, able to walk for, exactly, twenty-four hours.

She on the other hand has to spend the day in my life unable to walk. Needing help to do almost everything. I'm sure she's not aware of what shes giving up even if it is only for a day. "Are you kidding she says, She's excited, everyone waiting on me. Not having to do any chores. I can sleep all day. Be on the Computer all night, What a life I'm going to love it."

I was going to get to feel what it was like to walk on my own with no canes for the first time in my life. I wouldn't feel any pain. I could do everything on my own. For one day I wouldn't have to ask for help to do anything. I could go to the bathroom without help, Wow, how exciting that would be. I'd be able to do it on my own. When it came time for us to switch places I said, "Wait...I'm going to miss being with my children I can't do it."

I would never give up on being who I am anyway. I love being Marcia

I'm Sad today need a little cheering up...
I have so much I want to write about today. Please, bear *Teddy* *Smile* with me. I’m sorry I missed writing in my blog yesterday, but I've been sad. *Sad* I guess, I should start by telling you why. As most of my blog readers know I was born with Cerebral Palsy; well more specifically, I have spastic cerebral palsy which means I, occasionally, have spasms I can’t control, usually, they occur in my legs. I’m thankful they don’t happen often, but when they do they aren't easy to hide especially, if something is in the way like a table. My point is I had a spasm and legs hit my laptop table. My whole cup of coffee spilled over on my brand new laptop! *Facepalm* It’s under a full drop and spill warranty, but I’m so angry*Angry* at myself for having my cup near my computer. I know better. It seems to be working fine except for a few sticky keys, but they all still work fine. I’m so patient, usually, but I’m so angry at myself right now for being so careless. I know I couldn't control the stupid spasm, but I could control the liquid near my new PC. *Smirk*

If your life flashed before your eyes, what are 5 moments you know would be included? Bonus points to the monthly blogging if you tie this in with Halloween.
If my life passed before my eyes five memories that flash before my eyes would be…
1. When I was six years old and took my first step with my canes.
2. When I gave birth to my each one of Children.
3. When I held my Grandchildren, Brandon and Evan for the first time.
4. Martina McBride and her music has always inspired me, but when I met for the first time it was a dream come true for me. She’s treated me like I really matter to her. She’s became a huge part of my life. You can also read that story here

The memory that would pass before my eyes is the year I was a teddy bear for Halloween at my family’s annual Halloween party. It’s me dressed up in the teddy bear costume you see in the story above.

Halloween! Prompt: Who would you rather live with? The Addams Family or The Monsters?
I would like to live with the Monsters. Why? To me, poor Herman was always misunderstood, because of his looks, when in reality he just wanted to be loved/liked for who he is inside, so I really understood Herman. He was a big pussy cat as, Lily used call him, but people would just take one look at him sometimes and run the other way…I know the feeling.

Family Traditions: Do you have any or do you know of one done by another family. Do you feel tradition is important?

My mother was big on family tradition. *Smile* Christmas was an amazing time of year

Mom, was big on tradition it made Christmas magical for me.

She decorated every room in the house even the bathroom for Christmas.

She loved making Christmas dreams come true.

My mom loved every aspect of the Christmas season

The shopping.

The cooking. (Dinner was always huge)

The decorations, but most of all Mommy loved giving gifts and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

I miss you more and more everyday, Mommy. How I wish you were still here with us.

Just a small thought don't smoke. It's not worth it.Lung Cancer is a nasty disease I know it can be caused by other things other then smoking, but life is short without making it shorter—Only my opinion...

I remember mommy enjoying the clay animated Christmas stories The Year Without A Santa Claus was one her favorites

The first time she saw this part of the story. She laughed so hard she cried. I sure do miss hearing her laugh *Laugh* It was one of those contagious laughs.
