Not many views of my blog like the past week-end. My thoughts are mostly blank. But I do need to thank charlesthec for a nice merit badge.   WEATHERSaturday evening: 37º at Memorial Stadium and feeling no pain. 42º in Manhattan, Kansas and frosted. 40º in Missoula, Montana and Grizzly happy. 35º in Bozeman where the Bobcats are sulking.It is warmer when you win than when you lose  . He chirps that he'll be very late to meet his friends by the jungle gym, excuses himself, then runs outside. Went longer than normal, started later than normal, and when the sun was behind a cloud? *shiver* The largest crowd ever showed up. Over 51,000 and it was purple and red and blue and purple. Up in the cheap seats under the bell tower there were a lot of young students that didn't get into the game. Which means most of them were standing. Us older folks prefer to sit more of the time.  It was the last home game so I sure was not going to miss it!After halftime I got to sit on a bench I shared with a family from Hiawatha. They toughed it out until the outcome wasn't in doubt. And the game? Seemed like no one wanted to win it at times. Fumbles and interceptions kept both offenses in a tizzy, but Cornish did run for 201 yards and the Jayhawks did win 39-20. Which was better than losing one they should've won which happened 5 times already this season. One last away game in the state of Misery. Tigers didn't do so well today. The goalposts came down at the end of course and were thrown into Potter Lake. I think only one person went swimming, but who knows. A bit of antifreeze and some young guys feel no pain. Last year was more significant with key wins over Nebraska, Iowa State and Missouri. The goal post came down three times. And it was alot warmer! As for Party's party in Montana: Grizzlies 13 - Bobcats 10 in front of over 24,000 fans. Bet downtown Missoula is jamming.  COFFEEHOUSE: Went to Henry's and had a nice conversation with Brooke, a cosmotology student who was reading a poetry book that fell on her (a good a reason to buy a book as any other) and a copy of Dickenson she paid $6 for. SUNDAY: Went to the bell concert. Played with Hatsumi's dogs: Pom and Hina. Went to the library and read blogs and made comments. Got a call from my cousin Carol! But in general, not a very productive day. Komunyakaa's poems were depressing me and my situation is still dreary. Did write 3 poems though. I'm about 55 behind my goal. I can make that up or include my scenes for 'Ao Hanada', in which case I'm not so far behind. BLOGVILLEI have come to the conclusion that we are all a bunch of animals! What are you? I came across an article on how a Los Angeles hospital has been accused of dumping homeless people back on the streets. Does America treat its poor well? Well, if you are not poor, you'll probably never know. If you are, you know the answer. Here, many poor people just sign themsleves out against advice, but we have someone dying in the local flophouse right now so it's a touchy subject. The jails and rehab centers have a way of just dumping folks at a downtown corner without notifying anyone. Creates all kinds of havoc.
