"Serenade" (Poetry/Day 8 Entry)

Serenade

A tiny riving sound,
whisper borne,
gently proclaims imminent birth,
seeking not to astound
but forewarn
the changing rhythms of the earth.

The first breath of fresh air,
first heartbeat,
the musical cry at the start,
echoes like a prayer;
a soft suite
like a symphony of the heart.

Each sound, in harmony
with all things,
finds its place in the great array
of notes with certainty,
from which springs
life’s serenade that fills each day.

Form: Tri-fall The Tri-fall, created by Jan Turner, consists three 6-line stanzas, for a total of 18 lines. The rhyme scheme is a,b,c,a,b,c and meter for each stanza is 6/3/8/6/3/8.
