This online collection of cultural stories, poems and essays is unique.
*Books3* This book is a collection of cultural Black stories, set in the now and forty years ago. The first set, On A Mission, contains numerous stories: Mother Smith, Annie-May,Clara-Jean,Itty-Bitty-Ol'-Nasty Man, And The Mighty Zay-eusm are the main ones. These are witty sometimes sad characters, that find their way to carry-forth.
The book also contains cultural poems, essays, and prose. Most of the stories are being created, as I post them, it is a raw blog. I am interacting with my readers taking suggestions for stories, finding out about their interests. It is a work in progress, I go through my stories and smooth then out. It's for fun, some of my stories may eventually find their way into it. The blog is casual and conversational, urban musings. I keep a blog, with the book, to keep readers posted. There are, teaser, excerpts chapters, from my book.
Tales & Myths from The Inner city, a work in progress..The Paperback version, of the book is being smooth out, and edited, and marketed. I featured some of the concepts from this book, on T-shirts, mugs and other gifts : http:www.Zazzle.com/qmarpat. Thanks, I look forward to supporting you, too! Stop by my blog, and say,"Hello". You remember that 1960's song of that title? Are your mondays like that? I knew someone who actually liked mondays. She said it was like a fresh start. You could correct all the dumb mistakes you made the week before. I don't mind mondays, I look forward to them in a way. Whe I was younger maybe 25 years ago, thursday was my least favorite day. I think saturday is. That shows you my lack of a social life. I'm usually reading, or doing college homework, on working on one of my small online shops, or blogging. I had made a pledge to myself, that I would start doing fun things this year. I like shooting billards,I'm off my game a little right now. I plan to start practising again. Their are tournamnets in the bay area, I'd like to enter before the year is up. I love skating, too. The last time I was on skates, I fought the feeling of falling down. I've never ridden a bike in my life, people always mistake me for some wild lady flying up down the street on bikes. The nutty kind that need to be locked up. I don't look like her-please! Mistake me for the artist painting lovely things, on a mural. I'd be more likely there, when I can get my heart up and running again. Mondays are okay for me, just will figure out a way to make them special.....

What is your least special day? You know I think it depends, the sun was shining yesterday, so I decided to make the most of it. I put my homework down, that's all I had been doing, to catch up. I turned my old blues albums on and started play, my harmonic to my favorites. I like Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Lowell Folsom, and some others. I'm going to go to a skating ring, and ask them to play some of my favorite R&B. One of the local rings, plays popular music. I need to unwind, that would be alot of fun, for me.

Take care, enjoy your monday, tuesday, etc.etc. BYE!

Did you have a nice productive weekend? Did you get plenty of rest, and eat some new chocolate goodies? I've developed a passion for these,HUGE urban fantasy character cookies I've been making. I'll post one on my portfolio. You can see several of them, on my blog where I write articles about cooking and other fun things. http://Qmarpat.hubpages.com/choco-cookies. That is a good recipe for making your own. You can leave the chocolate chips out, and make them in the shape of charcters, with cookie cutters, or molding them. I mold mine, I have "crazy Nuthead man", "Cookie headed man", and others. You can make whimsical animals for parties, or your family. Click on comment and let me know if you haveany cool or funky recipes you like to make-like giant cookies or cakes with strange critters. You could sell them to people, for parties. I feel inspired, I think I'll start a story for you, about a lady who started a cookie business. It will be something quirky, like animals in funky street clothes, or something.

Take care--don't take any wooden binkies,

Did you play the Mega Millions lottery, friday night? It is $650 million! Can you believe it? I got my tickets, I play moderately, I have to. It is still going to be $650 million, on tueday, better get at least one ticket. I was a little excited, i thought I had gotten three numbers. I just matched the mega number 23 and one other number. It's something like three dollars. If I had paid $300 like some of these knuckle heads, I'd be mad. I had a wonderful birthday party, thursday. I eaten way too much cake and buffet. I'll post a birthday cake so you can celebrate too. See, when you get to be 40, you can take the whole week, and 55, two weeks. I'm in the two weeks for your birthday category. If you're up to,two months for your birthday, just stay in bed and drink little fruity drinks and watch old movies all day, and laugh your behind off. You've already had your fun! I like being over the hill, cause guys think I'm younger. They are their in their little two piece and three piece suits, about thiry-eight or forty, they are SO cute when they're that age! A lady told me a man mortgaged his house and bought $20,000, in scratch-off lottery tickets! He didn't win anything but free plays, and free tickets. Go ahead and play a little if you can just don't lose your mind like that. I'm going to post the birthday images, they will be in my portfolio.

Talk to you later--rixxie

Okay--I think I'm finished celebrating my birthday, You know when you're over, 55 like me and over the hill you get two weeks for birthdays!! If you've earned two months of bithday, I don't want to know about, that's just nasty. You remember, how I was hooked on those, new exoctic large chocolate bars? I have a new passion, it's thes enormous fantasy character cookies I make. There at: http://Qmarpat.hubpages.com/hub/cookie-fantasies. I had so much fun making them, I write recipes and articles, and those are giat sugar cookies, I dress up Like people. Let me know what your snack, guilty pleasure is. You just click on comment.

See you later, be good,

Hi-I've been over at my other blog cooking up witty dishes. You can check out my eggplant and, "Beans for Hard Times", on: http://Qmarpat.hubpages.com. And speaking of hard time, how do you adjust? Do you knuckle down, or do you do more recreational things? When times get really hard, it makes me want to treat myself. I don't know-maybe a cookie, or a movie, or new perfume. What do you do, when times are rough? I've known people in neighborhoods I lived in, lay in the bed everyday for six months after losing a job. They stayed in stinky pajamaas the whole day. They ate sandwiches, and threw their clothes around. And then one day out of the blue--they were seen going out the house all dressed up. They came back that evening and told everyone they got a job, they start next week! The man who had been getting up and searching everyday, going out everyday, and coming back in the evening, with no prospects was baffled. I am too. I read this book called, The Power of Doing Nothing, and it claims you can get all you want doing nothing. I don't personally buy into theory, I 've seen people just waiting for some miracle to come along, lose houses and jobs. If you have some theory about it let me know. I'll talk to you soon, I want to show, you some of those designer candy bars, I was telling you about. I've been looking at them again--hence my universal mantra: Y-U-U-M-M-M!!!!!! Don't forget to have your arms outstreched!

Take care, be good

Did you do anything exciting for Mardi Gras? The extent of my little celebration, was a silly, colorful dance in my house. You can tell when you're getting old, can't you. Tell me about the most fun and the craziest thing you did in public,(only legal clean things please!!) We can have a little fun discussingthat. I'm sorry, I took a couple of weeks to update, i'm living in the climate of the Devilgods. It's killing me, I'm under the weather, literally, if you only knew! Think of your stories you can share, and I'll tell you a few.

Talk to you, tomorrow, take care

Hey!!! I was speaking of silly things, (clean, only -please!) you've done in public. The top of the list for me, has to be the time, His Royalness Pfince Charles, made an unexpected visit to California. I saw him, ( or his twin!) get out of a limo near, the State capitol, in Sacramento, CA., it was the late 1990's. I decided to be silly, I went runnig down the street, yelling ; "Hey, Charlie! Wait up, homie, Hey, chuck, Hey Chuckie, hold up, let me holla at you a minute!!!' I decided, before I got arrested for harassing royalty, to take my behind, on home. I hear her royal highess, was not amused!! Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-, I was- ha-ha!! Oh-me! Oh, lord!!! It was that time, in the early 1980's, I was attending a cosmetic convention, at the St. Francis hotel, In San Francisco. There happened to be a couple of my friends, around. We had this stupid, thing we would do, whe we were all dressed up looking like celebrities. One of the ladies, would say; for example say, the entertainers' name was, "Eddie". She would walk, past him instead of acting like a fan, like everyone else, just casually say: " Hey, Eddie, how you been?", and keep walking. She wouldn't look back, and just kept goingto her assignment. One one us would look, and the celebrity, would have, a kind of curious, and perplexed smile on his face! I could just imagine him, trying to figure it out. He may be thinking;" Did I meet this girl at a party? Is this something I should be concerned with? You see, people around him, smile slightly a him. It was funny-but being an old mature, lady I'm not that bold anymore!! Tell me some of your stories, only the clean ones!
Just click comment, or pop-comment and let me know! I'll share it with my readers. I want to again thank all hundred of my readers, who have "liked" me on Facebook. I love you too!!

Do you have plans for Valentine's Day? Let me know what you're doing. You know you don't have to have a lot of money, to have a nice time. You could buy one rose, and take your honey to the all-you-can eat, ten dollar buffet. It really won't matter, don't let hard times stop you. Do you know wear I can get a little flirty red dress, for valentines? Something in good taste. In Sacramento, California, they are having a red carpet, event similiar to the one in Hollywood. If you weren't invited to LA, don't know any stars, you can check that one out. I hear they will be plugged into the real one, and sometimes the camera will do shots of the one in Sacramento. It will be like a remote location, in case you and your honey want to glam it up, for Valentine's. I think that one is the 16th, of Feburary, go online and check it out.

I plan to be at a writers' confrence in San Francisco, and another event I was invited to. I will come back with some fresh urban stories, and colorful images to make you smile.

Plese enjoy Valentine's with someone special
and your family!

Take care--chow, rixxie

Hi, by now you have overdosed on looking at the Ugly Christmas Sweater, I posted in my portfoli! Bright and shiny isn't it, real Christmasy-too Christmasy. I will be posting, photos and pictures of my characters, for this blog in my portfolio. Some of the characters, I've created stories around will magically appear.

I had considered writing some stories, about moivie and books I've read. They would be, things that never happened. It would be like the chapter, that was never written. When I saw The Pursuit of Happyness, with Will Smith, I started getting ideas. What if you did a story about, the guy that wastrying to get in the bathroom. It's the scene wear Will, playing Chris Gardner, seeks refuge in a bus station bathroom. The guy tha came knocking on the door frantically trying to get in. You could create a fictional character, perhaps your character was going to do something he'd regret. He heard the man inside, perhaps with two little kids. It made him, reconsider and he instead went home to his wife and kids. It would be that kind of story, not reality, but inspired by similiar events.

I'll have some more wacky images, of monster cabbages, cool fictional spunky people and the like.

Talk to you soon-be chilled, rixxie

Hi!!! Yes, I've eaten my share of holiday foods, and tricked myself into a diet. I told myself, I'd lose twenty pounds, by valentines. I guess I could, if I could leave those scrumptous, mega chocolate bars alone! They have all the names that make you want them: Intense Dark Delectable Chocolate Fantasy Bar, Chocolate Deluxe- Orange Liquor Bar. I went in the grocery store, the other day, and they were b0-thering ME. I brought my old self out, with just one, and m-m-m-m-m, munching all the way home. A little hint DONOT eat these on the street ladies! You can get a string a men following you around! Then on the other hand, if your social life is slow, stock up on them!! My new mantra is: "Y-u-u-um-m-m!"

How was Christmas, did Santa get you what you wated-he didn't slacker, buy yourself. And now we have the sales. You know you get to be middle-age before you figure common sense things out sometimes. If you're not going to see certain people, until Janurary, wait and buy their gifts during the after-Christmas sales! They won't know it! A guy was broke, and he worried about Christmas and going over his parents' house. I told him just pick up a bottle of wine, tell them you fix you a plate please, you hae to work Christmas. You drop it off and invite them over YOUR house on the 27th. They won't care usually, I think he actually signed up to work, then he had a real execuse. It's nice just to be around family, it doesn't feel the same, if I can't have Christmas my actual family. I feel at a lost. I hope you had a wonderful one. And I'll let you know how the Ugly Christmas sweater contest is coming. They can be store-bought, you had for a while or one you created like me. Thrifttown.com, deadline for entering theirs' is Janurary 15, 2012, good luck! Mine will be the bright red one with the Large Santa with goo-goo eyes!

Take care-Happy New Year make and Keep some resolutions 2012!!

Hi! How's everything so far? Now don't panic it's only he first day of December! You have a million possibilities ahead of you. You losy your job and here it is the holidays? You can open an account on Ebay and Amazon.com it's easy. You can sell some of those old jeans in good condition, wash 'em , and there you are. You a little behind in the mortgage, you could think about selling more things, moonlighting at a fastfood place. The managers make good money. I once new a guy who, was in business, lost his job. He applied to be a mnager at Jack-in-the-Box, made a little more than he id at his last job.

You know if you have a big back yard, you could start a large garden and sell at the farmer's market. I plan to buy a small house soon, and grow a variety of roses citrus. I knew this unemployed neighbor who made, a living from selling things out of his garden, and moving eolpe. The skys' the limit! Take a new class, community colleges are wonderful, most of them. They have job workshop classes. You work on your resume' go on interiviews, all kinds of things. You could volunteer in your field, it keeps your resume' fresh.

If you're real creative this year won't be a bust. You and your friends and family can have a gift party. It's potluck style, you bring the new toys your kids don't want, or outgrew. The same with clothes

take care--talk to you later,
rixxie
