| On 1/27/16 I had surgery to remove a gold weight from my left eye. The purpose of the weight was to keep myelid down so I would not have to tape my eye down when I'm sleeping. In 2003, I had Bells Palsy and basically my eyebrow and eyelid started caving into my eye. The brow lift and insertion of the gold weight was done and I have been thankful to know that my eye was protected and that my eyebrow is not hindering my sight. However; the gold weight was beginning to become more of a hindrance than a help. I'm grateful to know that all this time it did protect my eye and that it is still in good shape. Now that the weight is out of my eyelid I have to be able to close my eyelid on my own and to be able to keep it closed. So far I have been able to do that and that's a blessing. On 2/22/16, I will go back for a second follow up with the eye doctor and then they will determine if I need to put the weight back in or if I'm at last free of this thing in my eyelid. I'm praying and working toward the later. The bar weights 8/10th of an ounce and is 18k, but not pure, basically I have a piece of gold for a necklace. I'm okay with that because now I can tell people that I got that out of my body and let them wonder from where. I haven't been online for awhile and so much less here than I'd like to be, but maybe after this 2/22 visit I can have a little more normal time to visit the place I love and will soon lose because my upgrade has to be done by the end of the month.
