This treatise is the result of a visit to church 1-18-09, and a song that became the root for the acrostic Worthy Is The Lamb, on 1-19-09 the second acrostic was gelled into the first.

Six More Months
An Acrostic Prayer
by Steve Cope
10-26-15

Six more months at the Ridge,
Is it me or is it You, oh Lord.
X number of times I hear it in my mind.

Mind that is aware of Your voice,
Oh so many times proven over and over.
Read to follow Your will now and forever.
Every day life has ups and downs,

Many lives are changed instantly.
Orderly marches quickly turn chaotic.
Newborns are still sacrificed to pagan idols.
Time passes by and soon our lease will be up.
Here, Lord, in this labor of love to You, Your
Servant seeks confirmation if You would have us remain Six More Months at the Ridge.
In Jesus' name I pray. Amen and amen.

Witness! So I got paid on Thursday. Paid rent on Thursday and asked the Lord how much tithe. A clear # came to my mind and so I told Rhonda and then accounted for it. This morning the tithe went to church with us and it's in the house! It's not the full tithe, but it is a start and praise the Lord for that too!
Before that we went to the store to get food and we maxed out our SNAP, with a buck left over. Good news, it's enough to last for 2 weeks. Now we are a month away from more from SNAP, and I don't feel anxious about that. Ever since our total got reduced by 78, because they say I earn over 1700 a month, I came to realize that we were becoming dependent upon someone other than the Lord.
We will use what SNAP gives us through January 2016 and thank the Lord for it as a means to meet our needs short term, not as a means to fully meet them for a month, by the way even when we were getting more, there was still more we needed before the funds replenished.
I don't know if you who read this believe in the Lord; if you've been a born again Christian for decades; or if you are only now beginning to wonder what it's all about. I can tell you from experience that it is a day-to-day choice to ask the Lord to lead you and then to do what you feel Him leading you to do. I've asked the Lord on many occasions how much for tithe and He has consistently proven that it is His voice, His will, and His guidance. This is only one example about the tithe alone and the realization that it led me to, concerning being dependent upon someone else.
Know that you are not alone. Know that His LOVE for you is real. Know that HE is waiting for you to ask Him, and that you can rest assured God will answer you. Amen and amen.

DAY 1056: October 7, 2015

Prompt: Which do you enjoy more rain or snow? What is your favorite rain or snow memory?

If I enjoyed one over the other I'd have to say I enjoy snow more. Now that's really counter to my natural bent of being cold natured and having to bundle up like the kid on A Christmas Story to endure the cold.

Reason? Well Instead of telling you of my favorite snow day memory, I will tell you the most memorial experience I had on a rainy day while on vacation a few decades ago.

I went to Galveston Island for the first and only time in my life. I had a wonderful time the first day; exploring the downtown area; looking at the architecture and watching an old octopus movie that was as scary as it got at the time.

The next; and as it turned out the last day; of my trip did not go so well. I was still having fun until the sky began to darken, the wind started picking up, and the rain began dropping in small buckets. Mind you I was in the middle of downtown, on the street, and I don't remember if I had a coat on or not since it was summer at the time.

So I think you can imagine what's coming next but for those of you who do not, here goes. I was getting pretty wet so I stood under one of the awesome awnings that overhang the stores in downtown Galveston attempting to wait out the downpour.

Suddenly things got much brighter! I heard a crack of thunder and right above me I smelled the smell of burning material where the lightning struck just above my head! I think I ran a 1 second mile; if you know what I mean; to the bus station and got my bus ticket changed to leaving on that same day.

Now that I think about it from this side of it. I know that the Lord was truly covering me with His protection because that could well have been the day I got fried like an egg on the summer sidewalk of downtown Galveston, Texas.

So I figure it's better to be a walking snowman rather than a crispy critter, and to this day I still have a healthy respect for lightning and it's crackling power.

Thank you Snow for a good prompt to draw this from my memory banks and making it feel a little warmer inside on a cool start to an autumn morning. Bring on the snow or rain, I'll be thankful for either one on this day and keep my head down in either case.

Yesterday I reached another goal in my quest to jog for health, Rhonda, and various charity walks I walk in through the year.
I've created a hashtag on FB chronicling my attempts at jogging. Along the way I've posted a viedo or two and here is the latest video revealing the attaining of my goal of 1500 yards a week.
It's been enhanced by the tools on youtube so you should enjoy iit. I don't speak much in the first parts but then it picks up and closes with the capturing the milestone crossed.
