Under the Sky: A Noble Flame

Japan, 1581 - A tyrant guides the country into a new age. Few dare to stand up to his might, and those who do meet a terrible fate. I just wanted to give credit to the company Solmare and its games for inspiring this piece. "The Noble Flame" is a stand-alone story that started out as a fanfiction, but grew to be its own entity with a unique plot and original characters. Although all of the characters did exist in history, Solmare did not follow real events (probably to cater to the romantic aspect of the story for their fans). Because I love historical writing, I wanted to create a story set in this era with a completely different (and more historically accurate) twist.

Some traditional Japanese names and terms that I use may be unfamiliar to some readers. They will have stars next to them and definitions at the end of the chapter in the appendix in case you guys are curious and want to know more. Most of these definitions were pulled from a combination of physical reference books, knowledge-base websites, and Wikipedia.
