Several years ago I started getting sick. Unfortunately the illness gradually got more and more unbearable. After years of being treated like I was a hypochondriac by doctors I was finally diagnosed with an illness I had never heard of. Gastroparesis is an illness where the stomach has delayed emptying. Some people have slowed emptying, but my case is very severe. A stomach emptying test was done to diagnose this illness. A normal stomach should empty a normal meal completely within 109 minutes - Right at 2 hours. In my test, after 4 hours I still had over 90% in my stomach. Medicines have not worked, which there are only three for this illness. So tomorrow I will have stomach surgery. From this point forward this is where I will journal my progress or lack of and gather and report any new information I find out about this illness. Just out of curiosity, I am wondering if any of you have ever heard of this illness.
