"You can't be serious!" David looked around awkwardly as he realized her was shouting on the phone.

"Its better for the kids, David. Mom and Dad have a huge farm for the kids to run around on. Theres horses - you know how much Katie loves horses, Noah will too. Kentucky is much better for them than Manhattan," David's ex-wife Susan said.

"You can't take the kids that far away from me!" David felt his heart begin to ache at the thought. "Y-you can't," the words caught on the lump in his throat.

"The deal is already done, David. We close on the house down the road from Mama next week. Chip is gonna stay behind and sell our house, then meet us out there."

"Chip? Don't make me laugh - he goes by Chip," a bitter sound escaped David, posing as a laugh as he thought of the man who stole his life; his kids. "And it was our house, not his."

Susan had met Keith "Chip" Kallam when he came into her office one day. An IT service man, they got to flirting, and one thing lead to another. "Another" turned out to be the end of David's life as he had known it.

"I've gotta go, David. I wanted to let you know." And with a 'click', she was gone.

David knew Susan was right. The kids deserved to be happy. There had been too much anger and sadness in their lives.

David, tears spilling down his cheeks, vowed that he would go to Kentucky every weekend, but knew that wasn't realistic. He would see them as often as he could. He would call them all the time, however. He would be damned if they forgot about their dad. The dad who loved them so very much.

"Why do you let her talk to you like that?", Gabriella asked.

"Its no big deal. She's my girlfriend, she loves me. Why are you getting so bent outta shape for anyway?", Jason asked, irritated.

"So what - I'm just supposed to keep my mouth shut? You're my friend, Jace. It just ticks me off. It just makes me furious how she treats you!", Gabby said. Jason tilts her face to look at him.

"Don't...just don't", Gabby said.

"Hey", Jason said softly. "This isn't just about Ashley, is it?"

"She doesn't deserve you! How can she have someone like you and not know what she has? "

Suddenly Jason realized why Gabby was so upset. He also realized how beautiful she was: how different she was than Ashley. He felt his heart leap a bit. Gabby?? After all this time, its her??

Looking at her with a softness she had never seen before, Jason brushed a stray tear from her cheek.

"You really love me, huh?", his meaning mutually understood.

Through her tears, Gabby laughed. "Lil' bit."

Their first kiss was just as it should be, short, soft and sweet, and definitely not their last.

"C'mon Lisa, you don't seriously believe that do you?" Mark asked, a slight smirk on his tanned, handsome face.
"Its just the move to a new house. You're imagining things!"

The house was hardly new. Built in the early 1900's; recently renovated, but still held its charm. At least it did before the voices.

"So you're telling me you haven't heard a thing," Lisa said.

Married for a year, Lisa couldn't help thinking that for such a good-looking guy, Mark could be an asshole.

Lisaaaa...You have to leave now!

"Okay, so you're gonna tell me you didn't hear that?!"

"Sorry babe," Mark said, again with the smirk.

"I'm going to bed!" Lisa stormed up the stairs.

As Mark sat on the sofa to catch the last half of the game, he shook his head. "Women," he said.

What about ussss?

Startled, Mark suddenly sat on the edge of the sofa, looking behind him. The voice had come from behind his right ear.

"L-Lisa, was that you babe?", he asked, trying to keep the quiver out of his voice.

I'll be your baaabe.

Mark heard the whispery voice again; distinctly female.

Suddenly, Lisa came running down the stairs crying.

"Mark, I'm not staying another night here! The covers were yanked off me, and a voice shouted for me to get out! I'll meet you in the car!"

And with that, Lisa ran out the front door. As Mark, close behind her, went for the door, it slammed shut.

Mark heard female laughter behind him, and he turned to see what appeared to be a naked old woman with long, stringy white hair, rotten teeth and dead, white eyes. Her pendulous breasts swung as she shuffled toward Mark, licking her withered lips.

Oh naw, sugar lumps. You ain't goin' nowhere!

Lisa, hearing Mark scream like a girl, put the car in gear and floored it.
