Based on an interesting dream I had that ended too soon. Click to view full summary!
Jake Berenson, an extraordinary young man who can change into any animal he’s touched, has volunteered to participate in a small mission. A woman with a troubled past recently arrives in the world Jake’s been in, for years. Sara, the new arrival, doesn’t have any idea as to how or why she wound up in the powerful and sentient Nexus world, where almost anything could happen.

During the same particular evening, a second individual arrives. No one ahead of time could have predicted or had visions of the future about a reptilian shape-shifter that begins to have a specific interest in Jake. His first encounter with this powerful creature, Sho-Kah, renders him helpless and unable to flee or protect himself. This brings very vivid and unwanted reminders of the time when he was in his mid-teens, unable to stop an evil deity from working her dark magic on him.

Jake, alongside his friends, will have their hands full. Nexus herself wouldn’t want Sho-Kah to stay long either.

Author’s Note: This is a multi-fandom crossover fan-fiction that features alternate universe versions of characters you may or may not be familiar with, in addition to some original characters. The dream I had about Jake and my two new original characters (Sara and Sho-Kah) inspired me to start writing this story! Eventually, I will have to write another on WDC, in which shall chronicle how AU Jake wound up apart from his friends and family he knew, from his original Earth reality. Yup, such a backstory would be interesting to write out...

Different points of views among characters is something I intend to include in at least some of the chapters. I’ll start putting down their names in bold print at the beginning of certain chapters, to let you know on whose narrative it is.
