This is the tale of Don Moren. It takes place in a time not so far from now, on the beautiful planet Earth. Except Earth is not so beautiful anymore. Three years ago, a small group of people opened a passage of sorts to the world of the dead. Demons began rushing through the opening, ready to rule Earth. However, the passage was not completely opened, and demons live in an ethereal existence. They were no better than ghosts. Until they began to possess people. The possessed retained their selves, but became corrupted by the demons within. They achieved powers, horrible powers that were far to powerful for a mere human to possess. The possessed began to destroy the Earth, and the humans along with it. They wiped out entire cities, possessing humans who were ripe for the falling, and opening more portals where they could. There seemed to be no hope for human kind against the powers of the demons and those they possessed. Until a new type of human revealed themselves. It seemed that when the gate opened, it awakened powers in a group of humans. Powers that could be used against the demons. This small minority of people began to build safe points, places that were free of demons and the possessed. Places that they could protect. There was hope for humankind. Don Moren's family hoped to find a place in one of these safe points. A place where they could live without fear of being possessed or murdered or worse by the demons. A home. This is the tale of Don Moren. |
