   Welcome to my Guest Book. Here you'll find a little about me. Please sign in and tell me something about you. Writing dot Com is as much about friends as it is about writing, so, let's learn something about each other. I have links here that you might find useful. I hope you can find the time to check out some of the activities found in those links and possibly read one or two of my portfolio entries. At the end of April, 2011, I was notified by a publisher in Abilene, Texas that two of my stories have been accepted and will be published in an anthology in August 2011. The anthology is a collection of stories of military life. The book will be published in time for the 10th anniversary of September 11th. The anthology, The Harsh and the Heart that contains two of my stories. ** Image ID #1799650 Unavailable ** "There's nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein." ~Walter Wellesley "Red" Smith. I'm sure everyone who writes puts something of themselves on those pages. In my "Sensations" folder you'll find my vein wide open with stories that are sometimes sad, and sometimes happy. I invite you to take a look, you may find something you like, and maybe you'll be helpful and tell me what you thought.
 You can check out a collection of my short stories at "Short Side Trips." Each story is an excursion to a little humor, some tears, and a few minutes of relaxation. Check it out and see if you can find your mood here.
 I have not written much poetry, but at this link you'll find my attempts. One was written for my granddaughter after the first time I held her. Another for my wife of many happy years. And one for a fallen comrade. And one about the morning my wife and I were caught in the rain and remembered how much fun that can be. I enjoyed writing this poetry much more than I thought I would. Take a look, I'd love to know what you think.
 There are many wonderful groups here at WDC. It's a great way to meet people at our site and get to know other writers. My links will take you to the groups home pages where you'll get information about the members and activities of those groups. Joining is always easy, free and fun, and a great way to meet people. Try it!
 Reviewing is a great activity on WDC. I have met many members through reviewing, and I was able to read some terrific stories. My choice for a reviewing group is the Simply Positive Group. But there are many groups here with a main focus on reviewing. You should be able to find one that is right for you. Try it, you'll see that it can become addictive.
I have a signature that I use for most of the reviews that I do. If you see my signature, hopefully you can expect to find some helpful information about what you wrote. As always, my reviews are intended only as suggestions. Your work should always remain your work. Watch for my signature.   And now a little about me . I worked for 21 years in Law Enforcement. If your next story involves the police, I can help with research. I spent six years as a Triathlete, I can also help with research in that field. I am also an accomplished chef and cake decorator. Again, if you need help with research in those areas, don't hesitate to call on me. I live on the east coast of central Florida. I watch the shuttle launch from my back yard and I'm an hour away from DisneyWorld. If you're planning a trip to our vacation paradise maybe we can meet and have a cup of coffee. Or maybe you just want some information about the area...that's okay too. I've been married for 41 years to my high school sweetheart, and she's still my sweetheart. My two sons are grown with families of their own. My Lhasa Apso, Maggie is always close at hand, especially during dinner. If I can be of assistance with research to anyone, please contact me.
