Just a few days left of my Christmas break... almost time to head back to school. *sighs*
Let's see.... I finished reading Stephen King's "Desperation"... yeah, it's an old one, but I hadn't read it yet and it was sitting on my self of "to be reads" staring at me.
Then I read "The Girl Who Fell From the Sky" by Heidi W. Durrow. Quick peek at the back cover: "In the aftermath of a family tragedy, a bi-racial girl must cope with society's ideas of race and class in this acclaimed novel, winner of the Bellwether Prize for fiction addressing issues of social justice." Wasn't too bad. =) I picked it up because my daughter is bi-racial and I wanted to get a glimpse into what the world at large seems to think of 'her kind'.
I just started reading "The Dovekeepers" by Alice Hoffman. Just started it and like it so far. It's setting takes place learing 2000 years ago on Masada, a mountain in the Judean desert.
Looking forward to seeing what others are reading!!
