It's the fourth book by James McGee in his Matthew Hawkwood series. They're standalone, but they do refer to each other so it's good to read the previous three.
Rebellion's set just before the fall of Napoleon, as far as I can tell (I'm only half way through). There's a lot more information than dialogue or pure action in this one but it's still really good and an easy read thus far. Having read stories with Napoleon as the hero, it's interesting to see him as the non-hero.
And I kind of relish the guillotine that's on the front cover. I'm sure men wonder why the heck a female is reading a book with that!
