I'm getting afraid I won't ever understand this site and I really want to. I paid for a membership here and I feel lost.

The first step is to stop worrying. You will figure it all out eventually. On a site with as many features as WDC has, it will take some time to get used to everything. I completely understand how overwhelming it can be at first.

If you feel like you need some hands-on, personalized help, feel free to email me any time. I mentor new people, and I would be happy to answer any questions you have so that you can adjust at your own pace. If the official guides are enough, that is fine too. I just thought that I would offer.
