The first thing my eyes settled on was the blood stained couch and the smell. I put the back of my hand to my mouth as the smell hit my nostrils. Everything in the small flat looked clean and tidy. Then I noticed drips of blood on the creamy carpet. They trailed to an open door. I walked slowly towards the room and on the unmade bed a white duvet also stained. My heart was pumping. I shivered.
