This is what I see when I go to edit my piece... this ' is scattered throughout pages of my material. I can't seem to escape it. In some places, it's where I used a long dash, e.g. "—". Other places, I don't really know. Maybe I copied a tab? It doesn't do this all the time.

Anyway, I'd really like to fix some broken writing ML (a tag that came out as {?I} instead of an end-italics symbol) but I'm not going in for an hour of meticulous typing.

I've seen it before, but usually not this bad or persistent. Any clue would be a major help. I hope that I don't have to redo my writingML completely!
