You can use the photo tag: {photo:#######}

{photo:1032804}

Gives you this:

Invalid Photo #1032804

If you go to your portfolio and click on Stats & Info, that will provide a link to your photos, then click on the photo you want to use for the item number. You can also adjust the size of the photo using the fs-photo (full size), s-photo (small), m-photo (med). l-photo (large), xl-photo (x-large) and xxl-photo (xx-large) tags.
