You cannot award book entries. If you do, award will go to book itself like you said. However, you can ask the writer to put the entry to static item so you can award it or.. Angus, if this is for the contest then you can indicate in rules that book entries aren't allowed or something. I do that in my contest rules . I know some folks rather have book items because they want to save some space in their portfolio. I do that, too. You probably can ask the person this time if you don't want to place award on book item.
