Static item subtypes are defined in Static Item from Writing.Com 101 .

For Genres, use common sense guided by the available choices. Genre choices can be supplemented by using more specific words in the item's Keywords section, which is also searched by the site search function. Genre choice can be changed at any time if you come to feel something else is a better fit. You can leave a note in your item requesting feedback from reviewers on your genre choices if you wish.

The site does not intend to furnish comprehensive options for all possible genre labels as used in the publishing industry. Additions are made rarely and only when there is enough content posted on the site to make dividing it into separate categories functional for those who are looking for specific types of content.

If you need more specific information than that, consult online publishing industry sources. Since this site is a writers community that involves peer reviews of works in progress, rather than a publishing site, the site does not get involved in defining terminology as used in the publishing industry.
