The site does not support multiple columns of text in items that use writingML. Multiple columns in online reading are not reader-friendly, especially for narrower mobile/phone screens. Fixed-width lines don't wrap properly on smaller screens.
I've seen a Word document and drag & drop complex option used for a simple table, which might work for short/small sections of text. Note that the drag & dropped file can't be too big.
