Sometimes you read a story or poem, and then as soon as you turn away you forget it. Other times the story's events, characters, or feeling follows you for a long time afterwards and changes something about you. Maybe you think about the world differently, or decide to name your child after the protagonist.
I'm looking for that quality that makes writing memorable. Can you put into words what makes a piece here on WDC unique and worthy of being favorited?

Main character has quirk or flaw
Main character has quirk or flaw. I would extend that to say the story itself has a quirk or something unusual. Why is the novel "Catch 22" memorable? Because of "Catch 22".
