God has given us a spirit of power, love and a sound mind. II Timothy 1:7

John quotes Jesus as saying:

“Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment:

concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you."
Quoted from the English Standard Version of the Bible.

Do you remember the first time some words in your Bible came alive for you? For me, it was when I was nine or ten. The words were: "Whatever you ask the Father in my name, that will I do that the Father might be glorified through the Son." I got very excited when I read those words. I've never forgotten them or that moment. Share your moments with God's Word with us here.

"Whatever you ask the Father in my name, that will I do that the Father might be glorified through the Son." I got very excited the first time I read those words. They sounded too good to be true. Now, I continue to learn what it means to ask in His Name.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

that was my verse, for when I got baptized.

What does it mean to diligently seek Him. One day, I lost a flash drive with lots of pictures of my parents who are gone. I DILIGENTLY looked for that drive. In the midst of my frantic activity, I thought of this verse. I wish I sought God like that.

There are two verses which have stayed with me my whole life. Luke 12:24: God cards for the birds, so how much more valuable are we? And Matthew 17:20: Jesus says if we have faith like the mustard seed we would tell the mountain to move and it would move.

I like this one: Blessed be the God and Father...He chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love...

Joshua 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." This verse has helped me in my toughest times to keep going. I stand on this verse a lot.

I love the verse that says In my home are many mansions. I was a little girl of 5 I was confused about the relationship of Jesus and God. I asked mother, "mommy if we are not supposed to pray to another other than God why then do we pray in Jesus name?

I always love to read the Bible: the book of Psalm where you can find inspiring praise and hymn and in the Book of Proverbs where I reflect wisdom. My fave verse is Psalm 23: 1- 6 and Psalm 139- more opinion on my book:

I hold on to Matthew 28:20, where Jesus states "I will be with you always." I keep finding more meaning in it, even after 18 years. It's like a gift I can open again and again. I use it as a rock solid base to build from while I learn new things.

I'm not a believer, nor do I read bible that much but Matthew 16:26. "And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? ..." I need to be able to watch my self in the mirror every morning and take responsibility for my actions.

This has been my life verse since I learned how to read in First Grade:
Ecclesiastes 12:1 "Remember now thy creator in the days of your youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them." (KJV)

For the first time ever I am slowly but surely making my way through the Old Testament. I'm in Job now. So many beautiful words. I have sorely missed out by not making a better effort before now.

This verse has helped me, especially when I have had to travel to yet another funeral. I’m glad to know The Lord has my loved ones and me.

Does anyone else wonder why the sorcerers and magicians brought more of the plagues with their encantations? Would it not have made more sense to try to get rid of the plagues? Just saying. I am reading about that right now.
