School’s Back in Session: Poetry Classes

It touches just about everyone. If not you or one of your family members, then it may just be the extra influx of traffic on your morning commute. So, why not start thinking how you can expand your poetry education. There are many ways to do this free or at low cost.

LOCALLY

-Look into your local parks and recreation center. Most classes you find are low cost, but some can be free or the first one is free.

-Many high schools house adult education classes, which can include poetry classes and workshops.

-Your local library. Not only do they have books and magazines on poetry, they can sometimes offer workshops.

-College. Yes there are traditional classes, but look deeper and find other opportunities to learn poetry at a local college. At our local college they have workshops for the community—which sometimes include poetry workshops.

-Local fine arts councils may also have poetry classes and workshops.

ONLINE
