Ask yourself how many times you enter contests or how many activities you participate in. Which do you prefer more?

Showing support to contests, activities, even raffles and other fun things, means more than just sending out Gift Points. Some of us are more prone to simply helping out those in need, to get things going and give them a nudge, but you have to consider that their other most valuable help is participation. It's heart breaking to run anything when the participation is lacking.

Contests are easier to get going - all you have to do is write and follow the rules. Many manage to find the time to participate, but it also requires the right type of contest to intrigue a person. If you like it and feel the challenge in it, you'll probably keep coming back to it and enter almost every round. If you're not sure about it, try it anyway and see how you like it before you discard it to the side. If you really feel that a particular contest isn't for you, share it on the newsfeed anyway. There are many more writers who might find it appealing and would consider participating.

Activities are a different matter. Some of them might require more time than you can spare and many of us like this entire endeavor to be fun rather than work. If it's something where you donate a package in order to help raise some Gift Points for specific groups or contests, it can be a small task you're willing to do and donate, in order to help out.

Next time you see someone being sad about lack of participation in their forum, consider participating yourself, or at least, re-post it so others might see it and participate.
