Poem I wrote.
The Lost Soul

Wandering Aimlessly
There’s no end in sight
Through the hot, arid days
Deep into the cool, moist night
Hopelessly searching
For what, I don’t know
The only thing I’m sure of
Is I must continue to go
For way up ahead
A tiny shimmer of light
Is that what I yearn to find
I constantly pray it might
As closer I approach
The farther it seems
My one true desire
Will never be within reach
I want to learn the truth
I long to be whole
To discover who I really am
And cease to be just another lost soul
So I continue my journey
Toward the edge of eternity
Fearing the bane of my existence
Loathing the limits of longevity
For deep in my heart
The beating grows weaker
As time goes by so quick
I will soon meet my maker
Lord, before I come home to you
I pray I find my one true self
And fill the gaping void
That always beckons for me to fall
