Highway To Hope

The journey through life
is a hard one.
I've made a lot of stops
along the way.
Which fork in the road
to choose from?
Which trail will I
follow today?
Is there a choice there,
for me to create,
or has Destiny lain down
her hand?
If so, it is all
up to Fate,
what's the use
in me taking a stand?

Destiny and Fate
will take over,
when coasting along
through this life;
leading to chaos and trouble,
filling me with nothing
but strife.

Free-will is the path
I do choose,
as I stumble along
in this way.
Searching for help
and guidance,
wishing this coarse
to stay.

Grabbing on now
with both hands,
I hang on tightly
to this rope.
Knowing, this must be
the way,
to finding the Highway to Hope.

For Hope is all
I have left now.
I've found nothing
to lead me
another way,
as I journey along
on this path,
traveling down
Life's Highway.
