Provide love care and security to children, rather than worry about their overload.
TAKING CARE OF CHILDREN

The thoughts of saving children too much work,
That psychologists so often display,
Are really born of guilty conscience
Than a new crisis arisen today.

When couples live in oftener than wedded
And broken families are so rampant,
It’s natural that children would harbour
A high degree of stress and discontent.

Why confuse mental stress with overload?
Why underestimate the children’s brain?
Even though their minds are fertile, yet they
In stressful environment cannot gain.

The psychologists need to attend to
The causes of child neglect and abuse
By parents and adults in many homes.
Psychological theories are no use.

Ensure that each child has a secure home
Where he may be loved and cared as a child.
Then the children will take care of themselves
And we would not need any theories wild.

* Written in reference to an article in the “World in Brief” section of the Lawrence Journal World, September 29, 2008 edition, which concludes that as per recent research, the children are not really overscheduled and, probably, it is their parents who are on overload.
