Short poem on the nature of man
Gabriel the alchemist
On the summit of man
A lover’s tryst
With an unholy plan
Took with lust
The rocks of tame
And spurned unjust
The devil’s flame

Warmth again
Brought to winter
Scorned by men
Heretic venture
For his spell
He burnt with fire
Brought to hell
By his own spire

Man’s bereft
Passage of time
Turned to theft
The alchemist’s crime
Man cast blame
On gods of Zeus
Called their claim
Prometheus
