A nation's plight.
From this bed...

From this bed of thorns,
blood, tears and tearing pain,
of depths of desolation
dissolving dreams
destructive thoughts
bewildering lives
shouting voices
crying eyes
hysterical laughter
sidelong glances
arched eyebrows
shoving bodies
nudging elbows
jabbing fists
threats, anger
and exhaustion
from frustration
eroding values
corroding corruption
mass cynicism
leaders grabbing
people’s food, rights
the health of self respect
confidence and trust in good,

I keep dreaming
of a new dawn
that takes me
and my countrymen
to a world free from
discrimination, bribery,
abuse of men and  power,
a place of wisdom, love
and peaceful existence
as it used be eons ago.
