Did I really just slip? Or was I pushed?
How did I get here?

I blinked. I breathed. And I wondered.

What really happened? I need an explanation to my predicament. Care to explain?

I looked up at the sky. The heavy raindrops temporarily blurred my vision every few seconds. Just moments ago, I'd been up in my two-story Victorian. Now I'm here.

Thunder boomed so loud my chest shook  with it, along with every flimsy bone in my body.

I was taken back to the inside of my home.

Coincidentally, my lights flickered off with the rumbling of the thunder. I was about to light a candle when I heard a soft creek in the house.

It's an old house, I reminded myself. A really old house.

I took a deep breath as my therapist suggested. You have the tendancy to scare yourself. Just take a deep breath and relax. I went to the kitchen to grab another candle, when I sworn I heard the muffled sound of footsteps.

That's it! I needed to prove to myself that I was imagining things like I always did.

I hurried up the steps and stopped at the top.

What if there is someone up here? How many are there? What would I do?

No, stop it! You're doing it again! Knock it off, just go!

I bursted through the door. I felt dumb for two reasons. I hadn't thought to bring a candle and, even though, there was a big window facing towards the west, there wasn't much light. Secondly, I've been afraid for nothing.

I took a look around the room and let out a sigh of relief. Empty, completely empty. I moved to the window and looked down. The window was floor to ceiling, and always gave me a sudden rush of vertigo whenever I dared to look.

I turned around too quickly and slipped. My whole line of vision suddenly turned black.

My clenched fists hit the glass first and I felt the floor come out from under me.

As I fell through the air, I desparately flung my arms out to grab hold of something, anything.

A decade had passed and I was still falling, although, it only could've been a few seconds.

When I finally hit the ground my breath had been knocked out of me and, once again, my vision was filled with a black void.

When I finally came to, I was drenched, covered in mud, and the right side of my head was cut and bleeding. I didn't have the strengh to sit up so I just layed there.

Slowly, I felt the pain cease to a numb existence.

My memory started to reboot and I suddenly realized one thing: there's no way I slipped.

I slowly regained my balance.

I had to know what happened. Right here, right now.
