A humorous prayer to the Lord regarding Saturday Night antics
This is a rough first draft; i take criticism well, and would love to heard honest opinions. Honestly, i think maybe a couple of the verses are unnecessary, but prayers are generally longer. Also, i don't think the imagery packs quite the punch, i think i need to make it a bit 'dirtier' and degraded, to more accurately portray a messy Saturday night out...so all comments are greatly appreciated!

May the Lord carry me when I totter
In high heels down broken paths
As I ignore the blisters on my feet
Or the pain that’s in my calves

May he cleverly disguise the vodka bottle
Shaped lump that’s in my bag
And hide all trace of any drink
I may’ve already had

May he hide me from the bouncer’s sight
As I stumble down the stairs
And drop my glass upon the floor, and curse;
There was nearly half a pint in there!

May he fill my purse with coins and notes
When the shots start to run dry
And keep my glass forever full
With spirits or with wine

May he keep my vision straight and clear
When double sight takes hold
And keep me from drunkenly flirting with
The ugly or the old

May he hold my hand and guide me still
When the bouncer’s kick me out
For slurring all my sentences
And staggering about.

And when I should vomit in gutters and bus shelters
May the Lord hold back my hair
And when the pain of the morning should strike me
May he heed my hungover prayer.
