I am going to try writing more short stories and prose to store online.
{{font:verdana}center}A Novel idea{/center}
The story you are about to read is true; the names have been changed to protect the innocent.

Protect whom from what; I have not written a single word about the innocent or the guilty.

Knowing the difference between right and wrong, I came up with a novel idea this morning. Maybe I should write a novel and let my vivid imagination run free.

Great, first I have to decide on a subject, story, and which details I want to write and describe.

With a little thought I said to myself how about a novel called The Beginning. I need an opening sentence.

My birth certificate has my birth date on it imprinted with my foot prints. That seems like a good place to start.

Writing novels will require me to have characters, a story, and many descriptive words not just simple sentences.

I had better write something so editing my words can begin.

It’s my time. The nine month wait was over. She looked up at the clock, gave a big push, and the time was printed on the birth certificate.

“Cut” who is the writer, who is the director, and who is the producer?

Now the novel is a movie; how did this happen? I still need to write the words.

There goes my crazy imagination again being the dreamer.

I don’t have writers block, I don’t have a clue what to do.

Movie rights based on the novel by me; maybe that should be my novel.

Back to basics the story you are about to read is not a novel and I don’t have to protect the innocent or the guilty since the words are not published, protected, or copyrighted because I have not written a single word or chapter.

Characters, my imagination is again on overdrive thinking about the images.

Her coat was tattered, and her dress looked as if moths had eaten it for lunch.

Sybil’s fingers were painted bright red matching red rouge caked upon her cheeks.

I am on my way; I have a description and I have a name for a character.

Sybil’s boyfriend Arturo was quiet and wore perfect pressed blue jeans.

Another character now I have two.

Will my novel idea turn into a novel?

I am not concerned; I just have to keep writing, not stopping and wondering if I should continue.

Sybil and Arturo had video chatted and met online at one of the dot com matchmaker websites.

They had not had their “real” first date he lived in Las Vegas, Nevada and she lived in St. Paul, Minnesota.

This was a modern day way to meet for two people who were born in the 1940s.

Stop the presses this is not a story I want to write maybe some other time not today.

Stay on track Barb, next novel idea “The Train”.

A family of four during the 1960s and their adventures on the train called the Great Northern.

The story will be about a mother and her three children boarding the train every three months from Friday night to return Sunday evening.

It will describe the family, the city, exposing the secrets and lies of three generations with many descriptive words and adjectives.

I am getting excited even I can’t wait to read the completed novel.

What will I name those four individuals in my novel?

Another novel idea regarding The Train I have names for their characters.

Hannah, the mother, Josephine, the oldest, Wilma, the middle child, and Robert the youngest of the three siblings; I can visualize these characters now as I will try to bring them to life with my words.

I need a first line to do that.

Standing on the platform on track eleven they climbed into the boxcar in front of the caboose.

Writing all these novels is going to require a lot of my time; on to the next novel and the characters and their story.

“The plane has left the gate”.

All these novel ideas are starting to get lost in my head; I better write a list and begin an outline for this novel.

Customer service agents, lead agents and supervisors, descriptions and where they will fit into the story.

A jet bridge with a CSA standing waiting for the plane to approach; along with work schedules, with a starting time of 2:00a and a finish time of 2:00a.

I can describe the characters, family life or lack of it not knowing day from night.

I am beginning to see a pattern here and still do not know what I want to write going forward.

Time for me to switch gears in the middle of writing a novel idea; maybe I want to do an autobiography.

I don’t want to bore myself I know the story.

A brain storm just came into my thoughts.

I can write two versions of a paragraph and decide a book whenever I get around to deciding what to do.

Another novel idea I can be the inspiration of a character for either a fiction or a non-fiction book.

It won’t matter the genre or how or what I want the end product to look like I just need an opening paragraph.

I am ready to start the book now.

Here is the first draft of the first paragraph of “my book”

I am and I have always been a colorful, spontaneous, creative, stifled, person afraid to write and share my words with others.

Non- fiction my name is Barbara.

Fiction version I think I will call her Bobby Jo or Brenda Sue or Barbara Jean. TBA!

Look the versions are similar; only the author has changed.

I am the author I haven’t written anything about me to change; I am about to change my tune.

I wonder could I become a song writer?

This has given me a lot of food for thought and has reminded me I am hungry and without food I can’t write.

Time to refuel and regroup; this will end the story of A Novel Idea.
