Summary of this Book...
In a futuristic world where the top notch video game system is a complex virutal-world called the VirtNet, Michael spends his free time working up game points to buy his way deeper into the game. On a mission in the game Lifeblood Deep, Michael must stop a Tangent (program-controlled character) from committing suicide. But when the supposed "Tangent" turns out to be a real person, Michael realizes that this is a true matter of life and death. The girl rips out her own core, and hurls herself off a virtual-cliff, killing herself in the real world. All Michael has to go off of is her claim that a gamer, named Kaine, is killing people in the real world...using only game programming. Michael and his friends, Sarah and Bryson, take on a government-requested mission to find Kaine and keep him from cyber-terrorizing any other gamers. They must travel through a maze of games, find a nearly invisible pathway, and infiltrate Kaine's base. But how many of them will make it out alive? And is Michael who he believes he is?
This type of Book is good for...
Teens. Junior high students will get a kick out of it.
I especially liked...
The end. It has an amazing plot twist that takes several minutes to wrap your head around, but once you do, it is totally worth it.
I didn't like...
It was actually a little slow-paced come the middle. I ended up putting it on the shelf for a few weeks before coming back to it.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Get a time machine and travel to August so I could read the next book (the sequel doesn't come out until August 26th).
The author of this Book...
James Dashner is an acclaimed author for his New York Times Best Selling book "The Maze Runner"
I recommend this Book because...
It is intriguing, with many struggles for the protagonists to overcome. Plenty for action addicts, paranormal fans, and sci-fi junkies.

Violence: 4/5 -- Set within a totally immersive online gaming system, The Eye of Minds features plenty of violence, but it's not graphic in its description. The protagonist and his allies are attacked by monsters and engage in vicious hand-to-hand combat, but the fact that they're playing a game without mortal consequences lessens the impact of the mayhem.

Language: 2/5 -- Occasional "damn" and "hell." Characters infrequently say that situations "suck" or that they're "pissed."

Romance/Sex Stuff: 0/5 -- Michael, Sarah, and Bryson exchange occasional flirty comments.
