Summary of this Book...
This is a book I got for my Kindle. It was recommended in a product review by Diane . When I went to get it on Kindle, I found that it was free for me at that time because of my Prime membership.

The story is about a woman, Adrienne Carter, who has moved to a new city after her divorce to start a new life. She left behind a very controlling and manipulative ex-husband. She buys a house to fix up and in the attic finds a bunch of letters, tied together with a lavender ribbon.

The letters were written from a soldier in World War II to his sweetheart, who lived at the house. Adrienne decides to try and find out more about the man and ends up helping herself find a way to a new life.

She meets a lot of interesting people, including the letter writer's son, a guy named Will Bryant. Will has a lot of bad things in common with Adrienne's ex-husband, including a negative attitude towards just about everything good that she does.

It is intersting to see her struggle with not repeating the mistakes she made in her first marriage. I liked that part of the story the best - where Adrienne finds her strength to be an independent person and stand up for herself.

I liked the relationships between the characters and this was an engaging and enjoyable reading experience. *Thumbsup*
The author of this Book...
does a good job of not just having everything work out magically. There is a lot of struggle with the negative outlook of Will.
I recommend this Book because...
it was one I enjoyed reading. I enjoyed seeing Adrienne grow and learn to stand up for herself with Will in a way she didn't do with her first husband.
