Summary of this Book...
This is my favorite Historical Fiction book ever! *Bigsmile*

Les Miserables is the story of the French Revolution told through the life of Jean Valjean an escaped convict who turns into a respectable man but is always being hunted by a zealous police officer known as Javert. Valjean adopts the daughter of a woman whom he helped rescue from destitution even though Fantine (the woman) only lived for a short while after. Through Cosette ( the girl) Valjean finds a new purpose in life. But then there's the French revolution.

Cosette falls in love with a rebel named Marius, but keeps it a secret from Valjean who doesn't want to lose his little girl. As fate would have it, however, Valjean becomes entangled in the revolution, and finds out about Cosette and Marius. He has a change of heart and even saves Marius' life through one of the most exciting parts of the book. *Delight*

Whether your a history buff or not, this book is a great way to see the French Revolution through the eyes of everyday people. It's also a great tale of mercy and love as Jean Valjean learns to forget and forgive.
I didn't like...
The length of this book. That was the only thing. It got a little long sometimes, and I was wondering when in the world the end was going to come! It kept going on and on and on which, in one way, was a good thing because I enjoyed it. It just took me way longer to read the book than I thought.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Learn French so I could read what was written on Jean Valjean's tomb. *Laugh* *Facepalm*
This Book made me feel...
Happy, sad, excited, depressed, etc. It was a very emotional book.
The author of this Book...
Is Victor Hugo. He is my favorite historical fiction writer. *Smile*
I recommend this Book because...
It's a great classic, and if you've ever watched the movie or seen the musical on stage this'll help you fill in some of the wholes of the story.
