Auri is a periphery character in Rothfuss' (thus far) two The Kingkiller Chronicles novels (The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear). She is pretty and broken and lost. Or so she seems.
Living in the vast, sprawling cellars of the University, Slow Regard follows Auri for a week in her day to day life.

It is so different to anything else I have ever read. Slow Regard is more like an epic poem than a novella.

This story focuses on a minor character from an established series. It will NOT make sense (or rather, I seriously doubt it will make sense) to someone who hasn't read the novels.

Several readers on Amazon have slated this novella - Rothfuss himself says a lot of people won't get it. You either will (and love it) or you won't (and be bored sick).

This is a true Marmite experience - love it or hate it, this is a dreamy novella that will either make you smile and nod in understanding....

...or it will make you want to hurl it at the wall in frustrated boredom.
