Summary of this Book...
I think this is the best novel I read by Barbara Freethy. The story is full of suspense, which immediately grips the reader’s emotion and attention without letting go.

The novel starts with Sarah Tucker driving fast in the middle of a stormy night, because she is being chased by someone. When she opens her eyes in a hospital with a head wound, Sarah remembers nothing, as to who she is, what she looks like, and where she has come from. The highway police find nothing on her or in her car, showing her identity. The only things in her car are a seat and a bottle with fresh milk that belong to a baby, but the baby is missing.

When Sarah’s photo is given to the news, an architect, Jake Sanders, comes forth to identify her, as his former girlfriend and the mother of his eighteen-month old child, Caitlyn. While in the hospital, someone tries to kill Sarah; who, she has no idea.

Then begins the search for the toddler and Sarah’s mysterious past, which she hid from Jake and most everybody. Despite Jake’s rage at Sarah and Sarah’s loss of memory and through a few murders happening around them, will the couple find their child, free themselves from the killers, and find a happy solution for their lives? Their search makes the gist of the story, whose details and ending are up to the reader to find out.

The setting is up and down the state of California. The characters, the good ones, are portrayed with great skill, but the villains are just that, villains. Still, given the many secondary characters and the ever-twisting plot, the story is so well put together and presented in such a clear language that a reader is never lost. In addition, the conflict is realistic, and the suspense and tension continue throughout, making this the best novel written with amnesia as the catalyst for a mystery and suspense plot.
This type of Book is good for...
reading at one sitting because of the gripping action mystery, and constant danger.
I especially liked...
how the author wove the story, bringing the loose ends together.
The n/a of this Book...
is Barbara Freethy, who has written 40 plus novels, some of which are: On a Night Like This (Callaways #1), Don't Say a Word, Golden Lies, All She Ever Wanted, Just the Way You Are, Ryan's Return, Daniel's Gift, Love Will Find a Way, Silent Run, Taken.
I recommend this Book because...
it hooks the reader the start and throughout all the twists and turns, with a bit of romance thrown in. Plus the book is written in a clear language and with good grammar.
