Summary of this Book...
Alice is only a Temporary Fairy, not a Permanent one. You have to go to an advanced Fairy-training school for that, and take lots of tests. So Alice is content with flying fast (she's still working on flying high,) turning her dad into a horse (so she can ride him,) disappearing (under her blanket,) and turning oatmeal into cake (with fairy dust sugar.) She's still working on making her dog float to the ceiling. She's also working on how to make her clothes get up off the floor and into the closet. She's not very good at that, either. That's for Permanent Fairies and she is only a Temporary one.
This type of Book is good for...
Ages 3 - 5
I especially liked...
Alice is a classic child.
The author of this Book...
David Shannon is an author and award-winning illustrator of more than twenty books. Alice the Fairy is the ninth book he's written himself. He lives in Southern California with his family.
I recommend this Book because...
Alice is a real character with a huge imagination. Some reviewers have complained about when Alice warns that broccoli should never be eaten because it's often poisoned by the wicked Duchess. I disagree. Kids are kids. It's well known that many children do not like broccoli. And it won't be because they read it here.
