Summary of this Book...
In Danielle Steel's latest novel, a host of characters have to cope with the horror of a hurricane hitting Manhattan. Some refuse to believe it's happening until it is too late.

All the characters lives change because of the storm. Some lose their lives and some lives change for the better, but they are all changed by how they cope with the storm and its aftermath.

The genius of Danielle Steel is in creating characters that the reader cares about and is invested in. I felt this way particularly about Ellen. My only criticism is that we don't see all that befalls her horrible husband George. We get a hint of it, but not the whole picture. I think in her earlier works we would have had the whole picture when it came to George.

I enjoyed reading this. It wasn't exactly a page turner, but it was an enjoyable read, with a weak ending, but all the books I read these days are deficient when it comes to wrapping things up.

I enjoyed the characters and reading Ms. Steel's observations which are always interesting and revealing.
