Summary of this Book...
This was a unique perspective on the JFK Assassination, written by the granddaughter of the man who filmed the assassination, Abraham Zapruder. Mr. Zapruder had no idea what he would be filming that day, but once he did film it, his life would never be the same. The family took on the stewardship of the film for decades, generously keeping it at the National Archives until the late 1990's when the government decided it wanted ownership of everything except the copyright. It is a convoluted tale of what to do with the most historical artifact (arguably) of the 20th Century.

Ms. Zapruder does a great job of presenting her arguments for her family and reasons behind what they did. As always, there was criticism from the peanut gallery on what they should do, but they did an excellent and respectful job, all the while considering the feelings of the Kennedy family about the horrific nature of the film.

I would say that this film portrays Abraham Zapruder and his son as heroes. The government is its usual bumbling morass of nonsense to deal with. Mr. Zapruder may not have the answers to the crime, in his film, but he provides the closest thing to it that anyone can give the American people. We will never know for sure what all happened, but this decent man did his best for his country and his slain President.

This was very well written and Ms. Zapruder takes on her nay-sayers (like know it all Doris Kearns Goodwin) with respect and style.

Very interesting book!
