𝔹𝕝𝕦𝕖𝕪𝕖𝕫 - Very welcome. |
Beholden - I think you should take that title and run with it. I'd love to read what comes of it. |
𝔹𝕝𝕦𝕖𝕪𝕖𝕫 - I'll think about it. Bit busy in GoT right now. |
Does anybody have some good ideas for April Fool's Day jokes to play on my grandkids ages 5 and 9? |
I say not to tell them for a long time. Maybe next year? At least next week. Clearly, I don't have kids or grandkids. |
What happened to icracra? They just sent me a note last night and now they're gone? We were chatting about this thread and and how their dad's joke of knocking on the bottom of the table was a quick and easy joke and how their dad still does it sometimes (or used to do it sometimes) even when they're all adults and they still fall for it. There was no mention of them leaving. |
Schnujo is Late to Lannister - I noticed last night that his post in this thread was missing and wondered about his disappearance. No idea... |
We're having a party in Wonderland. I've heard the March Hare is waiting to greet you. (Ignore his gruff exterior; he's a sweetheart, really.) In my book
you can read all about my adventures in this strange, nonsensical place. I would love you to take a look and let me know what you think. In the mean time, I'll sit here, eating coffee and walnut cake and sipping on English Breakfast Tea. |

"Rock Lives in Me (Eintou)" |
I posted this on the Writing.Com General discussion Forum but thought I'd post it here too. I'm curious how many send "thank yous" to Writing.Com Support when you receive automatic Merit Badges or gift points for reviewing. If so, do you think those e-mails get opened? I guess I'm wondering, with all these new merit badges coming more often, do you think it's necessary to respond? |
I just post a thank you in the Newsfeed; it's there to show my appreciation. |
𝔹𝕝𝕦𝕖𝕪𝕖𝕫 - You can thank them because SM does check emails from the support account as does SMs, but they probably get so many emails already, such as MB orders, Shop orders, each forum post response, and everything else, that a thank you for an automatic MB isn't required. |
I decided long ago not to reply with a thank-you to automated messages like these achievement badges, GPs for daily reviews, or log-ins and the like. My reasoning is that while I'm sure our thanks are appreciated, the hundreds they would receive each day would be a burden for the volunteer who checks that inbox to sift through and delete while looking for responses that actually need attention. I try to always thank individuals for kindnesses, but if it's a system thing I let it go. |

It's a little bit naughty ... |
I hope you entered this in a contest! I’m on a mobile device, so reading it was a task because it changes the font to a thin, swirly font. Maybe I’ll remember to return and review it when I get back on my laptop. I’ve noticed that all you need to do to get readers is to post a story and mention that it’s a little bit naughty. I also love the jackalope. Steve Earle has a song called Creepy Jackalope Eye (I think that’s what it’s called, lol.) |
buddhangela's Psychotic Break - I went in search of Earle's song. It's not bad... strange lyrics but I get what he's saying. LOL Thanks |
buddhangela's Psychotic Break - I have heard of Steve Earle even here in the UK. He put out an album called "Copperhead Road".... very American, great album. I love it. |

Our friend 𝔹𝕝𝕦𝕖𝕪𝕖𝕫 recently wrote a version of this poem ... "Word Junkie" I was looking to write a review, but while trying to comment on a different twist, I was Inspired; I requested my Muse come away from the fire in the pit on the patio and hang out. She cried and complained, but in the end, I won out... However, I can't Vouch for the quality of her suggestions. Still, we really liked Blue's offering. So to ole' Blueyez, I offer the highest of praise: I stole borrowed from your work. Not because I am a jerk! Though some might claim so, it is with minor disdain. No, your words got under my skin. I'm Addicted to Words, particularly yours. So take my theft, my inspired loaning of your poem, not as an admission of my self-loathing, But a claim of what is better praise than taking the literary license to steal borrow from a most talented friend? Addicted to Words My Addiction— it's words, and also to verse; My Muse, she's my dealer; I'm helpless against her seductions. Her fleeting teases, her playful taunts, and when all else fails, she flashes me her tail. These words intoxicate; oh yes, they incite conversation. I read, I speak, and I'm compelled to etch them down. From youth, in the grip of words, I've attained, There is no escape; in them, I'm forever bound. A compulsion as unyielding as the grasp of liquor and all the other vices without my words, my life's tale is a scroll unread. Each day, a new experiment, searching for my euphoria, a library of books, my ceaseless feast. Immersed in words, I'm intoxicated; in verse, I plunge, as instinctive as the necessity to breathe and flourish. Words on my palate, a tantalizing flavor, coursing through my veins, they're never wasted. They agitate my mind, unfurl my thoughts joyfully, I whirl in the cosmos of language. I am an addict turned peddler; I craft lines to ignite crazy thoughts. I disseminate and pontificate, compelling others to behold. My words a captivating allure of theatrical acts, "Give them a try," I suggest with a knowing smile, "You can abandon them at any time," I claim, knowing well they're entranced beyond return. Oh, Joey, you blew it; your poem lacks rhythm and rhyme. No worries, I say, Holding up my guidebook, "Poetry for Dummies." We'll call it "Free Verse." It works perfectly for those like me. |
