Hi there folks. I've been away from Writing.com for quite some time, I lament having to do so. But I've been working on this new site of mine, please look over it and tell me what you think thanks! :)

I just found out yesterday that my parents plan to split up by this time next year, in hindsight this seems like the only way it would be. My stepdad is 60 now and wishes to enjoy his retirement and my mom is a completely different person than she was.

So by next year we'll have sold the house and parted ways with him, I suppose I'm taking this somewhat okay. I haven't made a fuss or cried my eyes out yet, but I'm probably going to.
I can not even begin to imagine how the situation you are in feels like. However I can offer you my prayers and wishes for better things to come your way. Keep your head held high and be there for your mother; she will be needing you more than ever.

My parents are being argumentative again, my stepdad is seemingly no longer happy and has caused me significant stress and sadness. He has been like this in the past though it was in a different manner akin to abuse, perhaps it's making me think this

Between this and waking up half 5 in the morning to go to work I can't focus on writing. It's just making me so upset. Regards. Deus

I've decided in the new year to learn a martial art. I worked an 8 hour shift amd get out at 7PM, this drunk guy harasses me. Had enough, gonna learn how to fight so I can folks like that a lesson if it comes to it.

Haven't had time to get stuff done on the site, hope that too can change in the new year. :)
hmm, you know, any decent martial arts instructor will tell you that martial arts is meant for self-defense - not for fighting. Sure, I've been harassed by the occasional drunk or someone else. But usually words or even just my physical stature (or way I walk). I hope you don't think I'm someone not advocating violence on a whim. I believe people have the right to protect themselves. Heck I own several swords, knives and have a staff - know how to use them all. In the military I was taught how to use guns and though I don't wish to have one in my home, don't have problems with people having them in their homes.

Listen to me ramble on. I suppose my only concern for you is that you're seeking out martial arts for the wrong reason. Think of the movie, "The Karate Kid". I think that's probably the best example I can give.

Since the 5th of September I've been doing a 4 week work course for TK Maxx, it's come to an end for me. It's been said to be like a 4 week interview. Today I did an interview during my work there, and I flubbed it.

I'm not really a religious sort, but I'm praying I've done enough to save myself. My biggest fear is doing stuff that ends up being all for nothing.
Back from Banff in Aberdeen, had a great time and got to see my love. We came up with a plan for the immediate future, can't be any more happy. ^.^

Hi all

Sadly my long distance relationship with my SO is seemingly on the brink, it isn't her fault or my own. I'm not willing to openly discuss this but suffice to say it's doing a number on me, and some old wounds got opened today.

I'm not sure what I'll be doing here, she's been such a part of my life and the making of Starmage Academy that I might not return to doing stuff for it if the worst comes to pass. I pray it doesn't though.
You must do what you feel is right. Starmage is a great story but there are other stories you can create on your own. If you would like a few ideas, I will be more than happy to email you a few tomorrow morning. I have to work tonight.

Do not be discouraged, my friend. We all suffer through troubled times; dust yourself off and get back in the saddle again.

College is coming to an end, still haven't found what I want to do yet. So I'll be trying modern apprenticeships, and see where to go from there. I'll stay strong and keep going, just like the protagonist of Starmage Academy. Ryan Carlson. :)

It is hard to find work everywhere, it seems. Taking modern apprenticeships is a good way to go. From there, you can get good referrals from those who mentor you which can open a lot of good doors of opportunity.

Today my dog was put down, Sammy had made it to what I presume to be 15 dog years. He was my first ever pet, but I'm not sure if I can ever go through with it all again. :(

I had lost two of my beloved pets to old age, both cats. It takes a long while for the pain to subside; Sammy was a part of your family just as my cats were a part of nine.
