I miss my mother and sister. I’m not even sure why I’m sharing this on here. I lost my mother, father, sister and brother all in the span of two years, beginning in April of 2019. Each one came with a call that they had gone except for my brother, David. I was right next to him when he took his last breath. It hurt to see him suffer. I told him it would be ok that I would be here for his children if he wanted to go.

I thought I was doing good. I even thought about writing again. Finishing The Lansing Series. Then I saw a man today that resembled my brother. He sounded so much like him I found myself tearing up. I’m sure it made the man uncomfortable and he didn’t understand. I’ll be meeting him again tomorrow. He runs a small detail business in town. You can see his life on his face, his hands and his stiff demeanor, but his smile was humble and kind. Grief. It’s odd journey.

I'm loving my SKIN! Especially the color change on my email. Whew! Much easier on a dyslexic's eyes.

There are no words to describe how much I loathe Windows 8. I finally get time to write and do a little work editing only to lose it all to the mandatory update while away from my desk. Mac, here I come. http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001238.htm

Love our Macs. Went Mac back around 2008 and never looked back. Used to threaten to throw our PC's out the window all the time. I never have to threaten my Macs. *Wink*
I bought a Macbook Pro yesterday and the difference is well worth the money. Still learning the system but loving it already. :)
Missing the time to reflect and share here on WDC. Hope all are doing well.
"The biggest beef King has with mainstream literary culture is one of productivity. He was recently asked by the New York Times to review Donna Tartt's new novel, The Goldfinch. "And Donna Tartt is an amazingly good writer. She's dense, she's allusive. She's a gorgeous storyteller. But three books in 30 years? That makes me want to go to that person and grab her by the shoulders and look into her face and say, 'Do you realize how little time you have in the scheme of things?" King believes you should be writing, if you want to be a writer. Don't wast your TIME otherwise. He has a point there.
"Well, hell. Elmore Leonard's death this morning was not totally unexpected (the man was 87, after all), but still, it's a huge loss to the world, to fiction, and of course to his family. Leonard is one of the writers who got me excited again about crime fiction and made me want to write it. And his essay on his rules of writing and "leaving out the hooptedoodle" has been my guidepost for years. But what made him a true genius is he knew when the rules could and should be broken: " "If you have a facility for language and imagery and the sound of your voice pleases you, invisibility is not what you are after, and you can skip the rules."

R.I.P. Dutch. You were one of the giants. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/21/books/elmore-leonard-master-of-crime-fiction-d...
*Partyhatp* Happy WDC birthday! *Partyhatp*
My update for today: So I'll write it, and then I'll find out that I actually wrote something that is utterly useless. You can't use it in the story and it doesn't fit. So I just throw it away. I've done that countless times. - Jack Vance

I have done this too, you are not alone.

Hey Lisa,

I've missed ya. It's always good to see great talent return after a brief repite. *Cool*
