I've added another chapter to my book-in-progress, "Fiction, Vol 1: An Unquiet Desperation, Ch. 55: "The Tea, which should be about the halfway point for the plot. Things should get much more exciting from here on out!
Just posted chapter 40!

I'm trying to ease my way back into writing by revising and posting my trilogy of science fiction novels. The first 10 chapters are up now. More to come as my revisions continue. I don't have a set schedule planned for this. Posting will be at the mercy of how long each chapter takes to update. These aren't short books.

I've been writing a trilogy of science fiction novels for almost a decade now and I finally finished the first draft of the final book yesterday. Had it not been for this site and the encouragement of many of its members in those early days, I doubt I would have made it this far. The revision process for all three books is next and, while daunting, it doesn't seem impossible anymore.
I've just edited an item in my portfolio. It's a major upgrade from the previous draft:
STATIC
When You're at War with the Sky  (13+)
A farmer and his son battle against a storm to protect their home. [Revision, Oct. 2015]
My short nonfiction story Smart Cookie was selected as one of the 24 finalists for the Mental Health America of Illinois storytelling/art project! That means a visual artist will be assigned to create an illustration inspired by my story and my piece will be published in January!
I've just edited an item in my portfolio:

STATIC
Smart Cookie  (ASR)
An encounter with a girl at a bar from the perspective of one with social anxieties.
.
I'm planning to submit it for consideration in a writing contest for a non-profit organization's fundraiser by the end of the month. The challenge is for writers to find optimism in mental health issues. Feedback would be appreciated.
I spent nearly a full page in my novel tonight describing a particular, and unusual, submersible along with irrelevant, yet interesting, details regarding its origin. Either I'm getting better at this writing thing or I'm getting worse.
I've just edited an item in my portfolio:
 Porcelain  (E)
Porcelain, like a heart, is surprisingly fragile.
I've just edited an item in my portfolio that I'm considering submitting for publication of some kind:

Doors Closing  [E]
Returning home on the Chicago Red Line, I met a passenger who made the trip unique.

I would appreciate any proofreaders and feedback you can offer as I would like very much to submit the very best piece possible.
